American singer Miley Cyrus loves Pilates, often practicing 15 to 20 minutes a day to have a toned body.
At the age of 31, singer Miley Cyrus stunned the audience and other artists with her slim figure and toned body when she performed at the Grammy Awards. Many sources say she prefers high-intensity workouts, a habit she picked up during her marriage to ex-husband Liam Hemsworth. However, her workout routine is much more manageable. Miley is a big fan of Pilates, having been practicing it since at least 2013, even building a room in her house just for Pilates.
Since its creation by instructor Joseph Pilates a century ago, Pilates has become a widely popular total-body workout, especially among women who favor low-impact exercises that focus on improving core strength, flexibility, and calming the mind.

In March 2020, during the first Covid-19 lockdown, Miley livestreamed a quick Pilates workout with her trainer, Saul Choza. He led Miley and her fans through a series of five core strengthening and leg stretching exercises. Other exercises included leg kicks, leg lifts, cross-legged leg presses, and hip lifts. Choza noted that beginners can start with about three sets of each exercise, then work up to 12.
Miley's former trainer said she used to work out for half an hour most days of the week, focusing on her legs and butt, followed by her abs. However, after her split from Liam, Miley cut her workouts down to a few hours.
"Take time to rest, relax, enjoy warm meals, and your favorite sweets. Even 15 to 20 minutes of exercise a day is better than nothing. Exercise is an important way to say love to yourself," Miley said.
In addition to Pilates, Miley has also practiced meditation for many years. In September 2016, on The Tonight Show, she shared about the Ashtanga method. This is an advanced yoga practice, with a series of postures linked together by breathing, requiring abundant physical strength, flexibility and high levels of endurance.
