Winning entries of the "Healthy Living with Norwegian Seafood" contest

After nearly 2 months of organization, the online cooking contest "Living healthy with Norwegian seafood" organized by Dan Tri newspaper and the Norwegian Seafood Council has found its winner.

The entry "Change your meal this weekend with Norwegian salmon with passion fruit sauce" by author Khong Quang Minh won first prize.

"The salmon meat is soft, fatty, sweet and slightly sour with the passion fruit sauce, creating a new flavor that even my father - someone who has never eaten salmon before - praised it as delicious and enjoyed this dish," the author shared.

Meanwhile, the judges highly appreciated the product for its beautiful presentation, beautiful camera angles, highlighting the main ingredient of salmon, and having a friendly, easy-to-repeat recipe for housewives, using a combination of familiar Vietnamese and Western ingredients.

Pumpkin salmon porridge - a dish filled with love for children - is the work that helped author Nguyen Thi Hong receive second prize.

According to the judges, the dish uses a recipe familiar to Vietnamese people and makes use of Norwegian salmon as an ingredient, and is beautifully presented. The work was also highly appreciated for its unique choice of dish, as this was the only entry to cook porridge instead of pan-frying salmon like the other entries.

Using pan-fried salmon as the main ingredient for the third prize winning dish, the three authors Ngo Khanh Huyen, Bui Manh Tien, and Cao Hong Ngoc had different variations.

Author Ngo Khanh Huyen made a dish of pan-fried salmon with orange and honey sauce served with asparagus for her mother who is in the recovery stage after intensive treatment for a serious illness. The dish is not only good for health thanks to its balanced nutrition but also shows the daughter's heart for her mother, touching the hearts of many readers as well as the judges.

Meanwhile, author Bui Manh Tien chose pan-fried salt and pepper salmon to create a dish that "changes parents' thinking about Norwegian salmon". From a food that parents thought was expensive and only suitable for Western food, the author transformed the familiar marinade to eat with pure Vietnamese white rice, for a meal that balances starch, fiber and protein, bringing unforgettable memories to the family.

Pan-fried with garlic butter and served with passion fruit sauce, the salmon with mashed potatoes and vegetables by author Cao Hong Ngoc brings a harmonious, light dish that stimulates the taste buds while still retaining its natural freshness. "This is a nutritious meal, supporting comprehensive health, suitable for a modern healthy lifestyle and fully conveying the message of the competition," the author shared.

Using spices available in every kitchen such as cooking oil, garlic, salt, MSG, ground pepper, oyster sauce, sugar and honey, adding 1 sweet orange, 100g asparagus and 300g fresh Norwegian salmon, author Phung Thi Le Giang believes that anyone can create a dish that is both eye-catching, delicious and nutritious. Creative presentation is a plus point that helps the author receive the Encouragement Prize of the contest.

Meanwhile, author Tran Duy Linh made an impression when he decided to show off his cooking skills of braised salmon with pepper for his daughter on the day her mother was away from home. The dish was braised in a clay pot, which did not take much time but still created layers of tender, juicy meat with a peppery aroma, served with brown rice and eggs, and pickled vegetables for added flavor. The dish brought the author an Encouragement Award.

"Grilled salmon with vegetables" is the work of author Do Dinh Dinh. The diverse colors and attractive combination made the contest entry receive the judges' response. "After grilling, the fish does not have a fishy smell but still retains its delicious moisture, is low in calories and easy to digest. The sour lemon and grilled vegetables served with salmon are super appealing", the author shared on the contest entry that won the Encouragement Prize.

According to the organizers, nearly 100 submitted works are dishes using a variety of Norwegian seafood ingredients, such as salmon, Saba fish, crab, shrimp... and many cooking styles such as pan-frying, grilling, salad, sashimi, hot pot...

The success of the competition has shown the creativity and efforts of many home chefs, along with their dedication and passion for healthy cuisine in the community. Thanks to that, the entries received a large amount of interaction on the Dan Tri newspaper fanpage.

The first prize winner will receive a prize worth VND8 million, along with a Norwegian national team jersey signed by superstar Erling Haaland and a gift from the Norwegian Seafood Council.

Each second prize winner receives a prize equivalent to 5 million VND and a gift from the Norwegian Seafood Council.

3 third prizes, each worth 3 million VND and a gift from the Norwegian Seafood Council.

3 consolation prizes, each worth 1 million VND and a gift from the Norwegian Seafood Council.

Additionally, the first 10 attendees will receive a special gift from the Norwegian Seafood Council.

The award ceremony was held at the Dan Tri newspaper office on October 24 with the participation of the Norwegian Ambassador to Vietnam and the Director of the Norwegian Seafood Council in Southeast Asia.

The Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) is an agency of the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Seafood, which owns and uses the trademark "Seafood from Norway" in its marketing activities and on promotional materials outside Norway.

The "Seafood from Norway" label provides consumers worldwide with assurance of the origin and quality of seafood products bearing this label.
