On the afternoon of November 8, a source at the scene of the search for the Yak-130 aircraft in the border area of Dak Lak province informed a reporter from Nhan Dan Newspaper: Search forces have found the crashed Yak-130 aircraft, the location of the crashed aircraft is in the forest area of Forest Management and Protection Station No. 9, Yok Don National Park and Border Guard Station 743, in Krong Na commune, Buon Don district, Dak Lak province.

The location of the Yak-130 plane crash was determined through Flycam, this area is deep in the forest and search forces have reached the scene. Currently, the authorities are blocking the scene to serve the investigation.
As reported by Nhan Dan Newspaper, in the past two days, the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command directed Border Guard Stations in the border areas of Buon Don and Ea Sup districts to coordinate with forces from the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command, the Air Force Officer School, Air Force Regiment 940 and functional units to organize forces and means to search for the Yak-130 training aircraft that crashed after the incident on November 6.
Hundreds of officers and soldiers from the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard, the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command, the Air Force Officer School, along with functional forces and local authorities, were present at the border area of Krong Na commune, Buon Don district; at the same time, mobilizing over 10 cars and many other types of vehicles to participate in the search for the missing plane; keeping abreast of the local situation.

However, the area identified for search is a rugged mountainous area with many rivers and streams, difficult roads, and the authorities also mobilized more boats and canoes of the people to cross the river, making the search work of the authorities encounter many difficulties.
Previously, on the morning of November 6, Regiment 940 organized a daytime training flight at Phu Cat airport, Binh Dinh province with Yak-130 aircraft, flying lesson 208, flying long distance - no-fly zone - through clouds in complex meteorological conditions.
The flight crew consisted of Colonel Nguyen Van Son, Regiment Commander, flying the front cabin, and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan, Flight Director, flying the rear cabin. This was the third flight, the second flight of the front cabin pilot during the daytime flight.
The plane took off at 9:55 and arrived at 10:38. When the flight ended and the plane landed, the pilot reported that the plane's landing gear could not be released. He also took emergency measures to handle the situation but was still unsuccessful. The pilot reported to the flight commander and was allowed to parachute. The two pilots parachuted at 10:51 at the TB2 Shooting Range, Tay Son District, Binh Dinh Province.
On the night of November 6, two pilots who parachuted after the incident were found in good health in the mountainous area of Tay Son district, Binh Dinh.
Based on the flight direction before the accident, the Air Defense - Air Force took the lead and coordinated with forces and localities to search for the missing plane.
