U23 Vietnam players will be the seeds for the National Team

On August 27, the Vietnam Football Federation held a ceremony to celebrate the Vietnam U23 team winning the championship at the Southeast Asian U23 Football Championship.

In the journey to defend the championship title at the Tournament, the Vietnam U23 Team won against Laos (4-1) and the Philippines (1-0) and ranked first in the Group Stage. In the Semi-finals, Coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team had a big win against Malaysia U23 with a score of 4-1.

In the Final, the 6-5 victory in the penalty shootout against U23 Indonesia helped U23 Vietnam successfully defend the U23 Southeast Asian Championship.

Speaking at the celebration ceremony, Coach Hoang Anh Tuan thanked the Vietnam Football Federation as well as the clubs for creating the best conditions for the players to focus on training, competing and bringing glory to the Fatherland.

Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan believes that young players will be good seeds to train, select and supplement the National Team in the future.

Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Anh Tu, on behalf of the Federation's Board of Directors, sent congratulations to Coach Hoang Anh Tuan and the players for their excellent performance and successful defense of the championship.

Although they did not set any achievement goals for this tournament, the young players have done things beyond expectations.

Creating conditions for young players to compete in tournaments is the current general direction of the Vietnam Football Federation.

Some players who performed well in this tournament will help Head Coach of the Vietnam National Team Philippe Troussier have more options for the National Team to compete in upcoming tournaments.

At the ceremony, the Vietnam Football Federation awarded the coaching staff and players of the Vietnam U23 team a bonus worth 1.8 billion VND.
