Recently, BYD has issued a recall order for 96,714 Dolphin and Yuan Plus (international name is Atto 3) in China to fix the risk of fire and explosion, according to CarNewsChina . All of these vehicles were assembled domestically and had errors during the production process.
Of these, 8,952 Yuan Plus units were produced between November 2, 2022 and June 19, 2023, as well as 87,762 Dolphin and Yuan Plus units manufactured between February 4, 2022 and December 26, 2023.

Specifically, the CEPS controller of the recalled vehicles has a manufacturing defect. When the instrument cover is closed, this part can interfere with the capacitor on the control circuit board, creating small cracks in the capacitor.
During use, this crack can expand, leading to a short circuit, overheating and a risk of fire, posing a danger to users. To fix this, BYD dealers in China will install free insulation pads on the controllers of the recalled vehicles.
BYD Atto 3 is available in our country with 2 versions (766-866 million VND) while Dolphin has only 1 variant (659 million VND) (Photo: Nguyen Lam).
Experts say this is one of the largest recalls in BYD’s history, not only in terms of quantity but also in terms of impact. The BYD Dolphin and Atto 3 are quite popular models, distributed in many international markets, including Vietnam.
It is not yet clear whether the cars currently on sale in Vietnam will be affected or not, since BYD was only officially launched in our country in mid-July. However, this information still makes users feel worried.
Not long ago, BYD faced a "wave" of complaints in Thailand for continuously reducing prices in a short period of time, making those who bought cars feel like they were being cheated (Photo: Nguyen Lam).
BYD Seal is currently the company's most expensive product in Vietnam with a selling price ranging from 1.119-1.359 billion VND, equal to a gasoline car of the same size as the Toyota Camry (1.105-1.495 billion VND) (Photo: Nguyen Lam).
In the coming time, BYD will continue to introduce new products within the framework of the Vietnam Motor Show (VMS) 2024, taking place at the end of October. According to some sources, it will most likely be a D-size electric SUV called BYD Tang.
In China, the highest version of the BYD Tang is equipped with a 90.3kWh battery pack, providing an operating range of up to 635km after each full charge (Photo: BYD).
