Sad homecoming of Vietnam team after losing to Indonesia

On the evening of March 22, Mr. Troussier and the Vietnamese team arrived at Noi Bai airport after losing to Indonesia. The atmosphere was sad. No fans showed up to welcome the players.

Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) arranged vehicles to take the players to their accommodation.

Coach Troussier stepped out of the airport lounge first.

VFF General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi was there to welcome the team members. Coach Philippe Troussier and assistant Hatem Souissi walked out to the reception hall first. The head coach of the Vietnamese team did not show much emotion. He took pictures with some people at the airport who recognized him and wanted to take pictures together.

Tomorrow (March 23), the Vietnamese team will return to normal training to prepare for the second leg. The Vietnamese team is at a disadvantage after losing to Indonesia. Coach Philippe Troussier and his team lost 2nd place to their direct opponent and are 1 point behind.

In the second leg, the Vietnamese team must win. If they fail to achieve this goal, the AFF Cup 2018 champion's chances of advancing will be significantly reduced. In the last two matches, the Vietnamese and Indonesian teams will face Iraq and the Philippines.

The second leg match between Vietnam and Indonesia will take place at My Dinh Stadium on March 26.
