TPO - Over the past few days, along with thousands of officers and soldiers in the entire army, 92 outstanding female militiamen in Ho Chi Minh City have been diligently practicing to prepare for the parade at the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.
To keep up with the marching and marching groups during the intense training period and harsh hot weather at the National Military Training Center 4 (TB4) and in Dien Bien province, the Southern beauties always focused and persevered to complete the training content well.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Hau - Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, said: The Ho Chi Minh City Command was assigned by Military Region 7 to train the command group of female guerrillas from the South to represent Military Region 7 to participate in the parade to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory. The selected female militiamen have sufficient political qualities, ethics, qualifications and health to participate in the training. According to Lieutenant Colonel Hau, 120 female militiamen were organized into a female militia company with 3 platoons and 12 squads (each squad has 10 people). After 2 months of training at the Ho Chi Minh City Command, the 92 best people passed this thorough examination to continue to participate in training and joint training at TB4, then marched to Dien Bien to practice and joint training to prepare for the celebration.

“The female militia have completed the contents and achieved the training targets. In particular, the Southern female Guerrilla Group has always received attention, encouragement, and material and spiritual support from the head of Military Region 7, the city leaders, and the Ho Chi Minh City Command. The officers and soldiers of the group are all mentally secure, have a good understanding of their tasks, and are determined to overcome difficulties, especially the training conditions in the hot weather in the North in recent days,” said Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Hau. For Ms. Truong Yen Vy - a permanent militia member of Thoi An ward (District 12, Ho Chi Minh City), participating in the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory Ceremony is a great honor. Ms. Vy confided: “As soon as the locality announced the selection of forces to participate in the parade, I wrote a volunteer application. Although I know it will be very difficult, I believe I will overcome it.”

As one of the youngest female militiamen in the group, female militiaman Ngo Anh Thu shared: “This is probably the longest time I have been away from home. At first, I was a bit worried. However, this is an honor, a precious opportunity to participate in an event of great historical significance for the country, I feel extremely excited and proud. This trip is also an opportunity for me to be trained, challenged and mature”. According to the Ho Chi Minh City Command, in order to ensure the best material and spiritual conditions for the female militiamen participating in this special mission, the unit has promptly deployed logistics work as well as coordinated and cooperated with the Organizing Committee and related units to ensure the best accommodation, living and facilities for the group.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Duy Khanh - Deputy Head of Logistics - Engineering of Ho Chi Minh City Command, said that according to the standards, managers, teachers, and service forces are provided with seasonal uniforms to ensure the performance of their tasks. Particularly, the female militia force is provided with 2 sets of militia and self-defense uniforms and 3 tailored Ao Ba Ba sets. "In addition, Ho Chi Minh City Command also purchased additional clothes dryers, hair dryers, irons and living materials, ensuring the best conditions for the female militia. We also regularly check the quality of meals and daily menus of the sisters. At the same time, we assign a medical team to regularly monitor and grasp the health status of the female militia to promptly handle the situation, ensuring the highest number of healthy soldiers to participate in this mission", Lieutenant Colonel Tran Duy Khanh said.
