Speaking at the opening of the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha emphasized that nearly four decades after the renovation, Vietnam is entering a new era: the era of national development. To achieve the goal of becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2045, Vietnam needs to mobilize all resources, including the role of women, to enter a higher and more sustainable development trajectory.

Globally, gender equality in general and women's empowerment in particular are considered a driving force for sustainable development, a measure of social development, progress and civilization.

To continue to narrow the gender gap, create opportunities to exercise the legal rights of female civil servants and public employees, and ensure equality in the workplace, the Department for the Advancement of Women under the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs organizes training to help female civil servants and public employees master professional skills.

Through the training course, civil servants will exchange, discuss and share experiences, good practices and practical solutions to overcome difficulties and obstacles in implementing work for women's advancement and gender equality.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha emphasized that women are facing many risks and challenges. The consequences of the pandemic have had a significant impact on the protection of women's health and rights, posing challenges to the implementation of gender equality and women's advancement.

In particular, the issue of digital transformation in all fields, including employment, is both an opportunity and a challenge, requiring women to promptly equip themselves with skills and knowledge, regularly update and supplement new, in-depth, practical knowledge that is suitable for reality.
