Colonel Phan Dinh Hoai, Head of the Military Medical Department, Border Guard Command, said: "In recent times, Cambodian people living in border areas have encountered many difficulties in health care and most of them have to go to Vietnam for medical treatment. In An Giang alone, statistics from the Department of Health show that in the first 6 months of 2019, hospitals in the province examined and treated 3,276 cases, and provided inpatient treatment for 1,588 Cambodians. Medical examinations and medicine provision for poor households along the border, especially Cambodians, are carried out regularly and continuously by border guards. Not only at the combined military and civilian medical stations, but also down to the control stations and working teams."
"During this medical examination, the working group brought along an ultrasound machine and discovered dozens of people with serious illnesses on the spot, providing timely treatment instructions," Colonel Hoai added.
