On the morning of March 27, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung visited, congratulated and encouraged the Department of Physical Training and Sports on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the industry's tradition.
At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Van Hung sent his best wishes to generations of leaders, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers who have been and are working in the industry. The Minister appreciated that generations of the Sports industry have made great efforts and contributed to the sports cause of “A strong people makes a prosperous country” as President Ho Chi Minh wished.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung highly appreciated the development of mass sports, from which the Sports sector discovered many talents and focused on training and coaching to have a good force of athletes to compete in international tournaments.
“ Vietnamese sports have also made their mark and established their position in the international arena. The achievements and contributions of the industry have been recognized and highly appreciated by the Party, State and People, ” said Minister Nguyen Van Hung.
After the match between Vietnam and Indonesia at My Dinh Stadium on the evening of March 26, Minister Nguyen Van Hung received many messages from fans. The Minister assessed that this proves that the love and concern that people have for the Sports industry is very great.
In addition to the commendation, the Minister hopes that the Sports industry will innovate its thinking and working methods to meet the people's trust. The Minister assessed that the Sports industry still has limitations and shortcomings that need to be improved as stated in Conclusion 70 of the Politburo on the development of Physical Education and Sports in the new period.
In that spirit, Minister Nguyen Van Hung stated that the Sports sector needs to widely implement Conclusion 70 of the Politburo throughout the sector, promptly complete and submit to competent authorities for approval the Sports Development Strategy in the coming time.
The Minister requested the entire industry to shift its mindset from doing sports to state management of physical education and sports, and to more clearly define the role of state management of physical education and sports of the Department of Sports and Physical Training.
The Minister requested the Department of Sports and Physical Training to review the shortcomings in the regulations to propose to competent authorities to amend them, creating a clear corridor for development.
Finally, the Minister requested the Department of Sports and Physical Training to reorganize the team, to arouse the spirit, to dare to think, dare to do and dare to take responsibility. The Department must strengthen supervision and inspection with the National Sports Training Centers.
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung directed the VFF to urgently find a new coach for the Vietnamese national team. The Minister said that the VFF needs to make a thorough assessment to find a good coach who is suitable for Vietnamese football.
Besides, Minister Nguyen Van Hung said that the team must find a playing style suitable for the resources and physical strength of the Vietnamese people.
Previously, after the 0-3 loss to Indonesia, the Minister directed VFF to work with coach Troussier. VFF agreed to terminate the contract with the French coach.
