On August 26 (Vietnam time), Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh concluded his four-day official visit to the US with a meeting with the Indian community in the host state of Tennessee.

In his speech at the Indian community meeting in Tennessee, Mr. Singh called the community a “living bridge” connecting India and the US, and appreciated their contributions to society, science and economy, the Hindustan Times reported.
A press release from the Indian Ministry of Defense said that Minister Singh described the Indian community in the US as having fostered close ties and goodwill between the two sides.
In a post on social media X after the meeting, Mr. Singh also affirmed: “I had a great interaction with the Indian community in Memphis. Their contribution to society, science and economy is exemplary.”
Indian Defense Minister is on an official visit to the US to further promote the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
He met with National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin of the host country.
Regarding India-US relations, on the same day, August 26, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden had a phone call, in which they reiterated their commitment to further strengthen multilateral cooperation, including within the Quad group.
The two leaders stressed that the India-US partnership is aimed at benefiting the people of both countries as well as the entire humanity.
Referring to the phone call on social network X, Mr. Modi said that he had briefly informed US President Joe Biden about his visit to Ukraine on August 23, and reiterated New Delhi's full support for the early restoration of peace and stability in this Eastern European country.
The two leaders also discussed the ongoing situation in Bangladesh, stressing the need to restore normalcy as soon as possible and ensure safety and security for minorities, especially Hindus.
