On the morning of November 18 local time in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a Conference of Trade Counselors for the Americas market region.
The conference was held in person in Rio de Janeiro, combined with an online bridge in Hanoi. Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien attended and delivered a speech at the online conference at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, 23 Ngo Quyen, Hanoi.
Also attending at the Hanoi bridge were representatives from the Department of Organization and Personnel, the Department of Trade Promotion, the Ministry's Office, the Department of European - American Markets and a number of related units.
Attending the Conference directly at the Brazil bridge point were Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, leaders of the Department of European - American Markets, and Trade Counselors and Heads of the Trade Office of the Americas region.

The Conference of Trade Counselors for the Americas is an important activity to evaluate the results of the work of the Trade Office for the Americas in the past time and discuss the orientation and key tasks in the coming time, contributing with the entire industry and trade sector to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the National Assembly and the Government, making a positive contribution to the country's economic development.
At the same time, the Conference also aims to strengthen the connection, coordination and support for businesses to promote export and investment activities; enhance coordination between the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Trade Office and foreign representative agencies in the host country and further promote the role and responsibility of Counselors and Heads of Trade Offices.

According to the Conference Program, the Trade Counselors of the Americas region will be divided into Working Sessions, focusing on the following topics: Policy changes in the Americas region and their impact on economic and trade cooperation with Vietnam; implementation of the UBLCP, UBHH cooperation mechanisms and free trade agreements with countries in the Americas region; Trade promotion work in the Americas region; some new solutions in developing economic, trade and investment cooperation with countries in the Americas region; coordination between units in the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Trade Office system...
At the Working Sessions, the Trade Counselors of the Americas region will focus on discussing the identification of challenges and opportunities in the American market; the US election results, the agenda of the Trump administration and its impact on Vietnam in the field of trade and economy with the US and countries in the Americas region; MERCOSUR's new policies and their impact on economic and trade cooperation with Vietnam; policy advocacy to initiate FTA negotiations between Vietnam and MERCOSUR; experience in implementing the CPTPP Agreement...
