Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son receives Korean Ambassador Choi Young Sam

On the afternoon of August 31, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son received Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Young Sam on the occasion of his arrival to take up his duties.

At the reception, Minister Bui Thanh Son congratulated Ambassador Choi Young Sam on taking up his duties in Vietnam at a time when the relationship between the two countries is at its best stage of development and right after the two countries upgraded their relationship to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership".

The head of the Vietnamese diplomatic sector believes that during his term, the Ambassador will strive to promote the good relations between the two countries to develop comprehensively in all fields; affirming that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will actively accompany and support the Ambassador to successfully complete his assigned tasks.

The Minister suggested that both sides coordinate to effectively implement the common perceptions and agreements signed between the two countries' senior leaders; including effectively implementing the "Action Program on implementing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries".

For his part, Ambassador Choi Young Sam expressed his honor to assume the role of Ambassador to Vietnam - one of Korea's leading important partners; and affirmed that he will do his utmost to contribute to promoting the bilateral relationship to develop substantially and effectively.

The Korean Ambassador expressed his wish to cooperate closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as relevant Vietnamese agencies to implement cooperation agreements between the two countries, including trade, investment, security-defense, labor, human resource training, climate change response, etc.; at the same time, promote cooperation with Vietnam in international and regional forums, including supporting Vietnam to successfully fulfill its role as coordinator of ASEAN-Korea relations for the 2021-2024 term.
