On August 9, at the Ministry's headquarters, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son received Ms. Samina Naz, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Vietnam, who came to pay her respects before the end of her term.
Minister Bui Thanh Son highly appreciated the Ambassador's positive contributions in promoting the friendly and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries as well as between the two Foreign Ministries , especially contributing to bringing the trade turnover of the two countries to 1.5 billion USD in 2022 and coordinating the organization of meaningful activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Bangladesh diplomatic relations (1973-2023).
The Minister suggested that the two sides soon organize the 3rd meeting of the Vietnam-Bangladesh Joint Committee on Economic , Cultural, Scientific and Technological Cooperation and the 3rd meeting of the Vietnam-Bangladesh Joint Subcommittee to promote bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the coming time, especially in the fields of economy, trade, investment, agriculture, people-to-people exchange and sharing of experiences in natural disaster prevention.
Ambassador Samina Naz thanked the support of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in general and Minister Bui Thanh Son in particular during his tenure in Vietnam, affirming that he always has sincere and deep feelings for Vietnam and will continue to contribute to promoting the friendly relations between the two countries regardless of his position.
On this occasion, Minister Bui Thanh Son sent his regards to Bangladeshi Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen.
