On the morning of October 26, at the Government Guest House, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son welcomed and held talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara.
At the invitation of Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara paid an official visit to Vietnam from October 25-26 and attended the OECD-Southeast Asia Ministerial Forum 2023.
This is the first official visit to Vietnam by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and also a senior representative of the new Thai Government to Vietnam, right on the occasion of the two countries celebrating 10 years of strategic partnership.
In recent years, especially after the two countries established a Strategic Partnership in 2013, Vietnam-Thailand relations have developed rapidly and have truly changed in quality in all areas, from politics, diplomacy, national defense and security, economic cooperation, tourism, culture, education to people-to-people exchange.
The two countries' senior leaders have established a very close and friendly relationship, regularly meeting and making contacts through bilateral visits or on the sidelines of multilateral and regional forums.
The historic visit of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to Thailand in June 2013 opened a new period in terms of the relationship between the two countries with the establishment of a strategic partnership. Through this, the two sides always respect each other's political institutions, as well as Thailand's appreciation of the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The two sides are expected to discuss measures to continue promoting friendship and comprehensive cooperation, and assess the cooperation situation in the fields of politics, defense - security, trade, investment, transportation, tourism, culture, education, local cooperation, and people-to-people exchange, in which economic cooperation continues to be a pillar and a bright spot in bilateral relations.
In particular, the two sides will gradually concretize the content of the "Three Connections" Strategy approved by the leaders of the two countries, including: Connecting supply chains, connecting basic economic sectors, especially connecting micro, small and medium enterprises, local enterprises and connecting the sustainable growth strategies of the two countries, namely the National Strategy on Green Growth of Vietnam and the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economic Model of Thailand.
The two sides will continue to propose measures to strive to soon reach the target of 25 billion USD in bilateral trade in a balanced manner. In addition, the two sides are expected to discuss measures to promote road, sea and air connectivity to attract investment, trade, tourism and people-to-people exchange.
