Minister advises lecturers not only to impart knowledge

At the opening ceremony of the new school year of the Academy of Policy and Development, Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Planning and Investment, told the lecturers: "It is not only about imparting knowledge but also inspiring and awakening in students the spirit of continuous learning, discovery and creativity, contributing to the homeland".

For students, the Minister believes that learners need to strive to achieve high results in studying, training, affirming their abilities, nurturing and maintaining the joy of living and learning, and devoting themselves with a fiery heart.

According to Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, in the context of the fourth industrial revolution and global digital transformation, the country needs human resources that can quickly adapt to changes of the times, while having a vision beyond national borders.

To integrate and keep up with development trends, the Academy needs to comprehensively transform digitally, transform its model into a smart university, improve management efficiency and the quality of training and scientific research.

The school needs to strengthen domestic and international cooperation, helping learners affirm their position and brand in the fields of training, research and policy criticism; Strengthen high-quality human resources by policies to encourage staff and lecturers to study to improve their qualifications, attract high-quality domestic and international human resources to work at the Academy.

"The Academy needs to improve training quality, research and develop international joint training programs, and organize international conferences with the participation of prestigious scientists around the world," the Minister emphasized.

At the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Trong Nguyen, Director of the Academy, said that in the context of the world changing strongly under the impact of science and technology, the school will comprehensively transform digitally, integrating technology into teaching, research and management.

In recognition of the efforts of the 15th and 13th freshmen in the exams and admission to the Academy of Policy and Development, at the opening ceremony, the Academy's leaders awarded prizes to students with the best achievements in the admission period.

In the 2024-2025 academic year, the Academy will welcome more than 1,900 undergraduate and graduate students, studying 23 undergraduate programs and 5 master's programs in the fields of economics, management, administration and development policy.

In particular, this school year the Academy successfully recruited and organized training for the first course of the international joint master's program in Economics and Public Management and the first course of the PhD program in Finance and Banking.

The Academy has met the second cycle of educational institution accreditation standards and will soon reach the target of 50% of training programs being accredited.
