On behalf of Tra Vinh provincial leaders, there were: Mr. Kim Ngoc Thai - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Lam Minh Dang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Le Van Han, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Chau Van Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Congress Steering Committee; Mr. Kien Ninh - Head of the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Tra Vinh province, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, Head of the Congress Organizing Committee; former leaders of central agencies, former leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; and delegates representing leaders of departments, branches, sectors, and localities.
Also attending were dignitaries and religious followers in the province. In particular, the presence of 250 delegates representing more than 320 thousand ethnic minorities of Tra Vinh province attended the Congress.
Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Mr. Chau Van Hoa - Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Congress Steering Committee, said: The 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Tra Vinh Province in 2024 is a very important event in the political and social life of ethnic minorities in the province, both affirming the consistent policy of our Party and State on ethnic issues and great national unity, and meeting the legitimate aspirations of ethnic minorities in particular and the people in the province in general.
According to Mr. Chau Van Hoa, in recent years, the Party Committees and authorities of Tra Vinh province have focused on economic development, cultural development, solving pressing social problems, sustainable poverty reduction, job creation, ensuring national defense and security, building, consolidating, improving the quality and efficiency of the political system in ethnic minority areas, the planning, training and arrangement of ethnic minority cadres have been given attention, revolutionary movements, emulation in labor production, and new rural construction have achieved many positive results, contributing significantly to the implementation of the local political goals and tasks.
The 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Tra Vinh Province in 2024 is an opportunity to seriously evaluate the results of the implementation of ethnic work, ethnic policies of the Party and State and the Resolution Letter of the 3rd Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Tra Vinh Province in 2019, to see the strengths and limitations, draw out the causes and lessons learned, on that basis, propose directions, goals and solutions to better implement ethnic policies in the coming time.
“At the same time, the Congress also acknowledges, honors, commends and rewards outstanding collectives and individuals who represent the will and aspirations of ethnic minorities in Tra Vinh province. Through the Congress, delegates also shared very practical experiences through typical presentations and reports of outstanding collectives and individuals,” said Mr. Chau Van Hoa.
* Before the opening ceremony, the delegation attending the Congress offered flowers and incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the Temple of His Holiness and the Heroic Martyrs at the Martyrs Cemetery of Tra Vinh province (Long Duc commune, Tra Vinh city).
Here, the delegates expressed their infinite gratitude and deep respect for the great ideology and extremely noble life of President Ho Chi Minh - the genius leader of the Vietnamese Revolution, National Liberation Hero, Outstanding Cultural Celebrity and commemorated the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the people.
