Minister of Natural Resources and Environment attends Great Solidarity Day in Yen Bai

Celebrating the Great Solidarity Day with the local people, this morning (November 17), Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Do Duc Duy and the local people participated in many folk games.

The joyful and exciting atmosphere welcoming the Great Unity Day of ethnic minorities in village 3, Minh Quan commune, Tran Yen district (Yen Bai province) this morning (November 17) became more exciting when Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Do Duc Duy, Secretary of Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee Tran Huy Tuan and provincial leaders participated in bamboo dancing and tug of war amidst cheering applause.

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Do Duc Duy and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai province, along with a delegation of provincial officials and leaders of Tran Yen district participated in a number of folk games and traditional art and sports performances of the people.

Hamlet 3, Minh Quan commune has 152 households with 592 people, including 6 ethnic groups living together, always promoting the tradition of solidarity, creativity, actively participating in patriotic emulation movements, campaigns, agreeing to implement socio-economic development tasks, building and consolidating the Great National Unity bloc.

The Village Front Working Committee always focuses on implementing the principles and motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect and people benefit"; mobilizing people to actively compete in labor production, hunger eradication and poverty reduction; building hygienic works, treating wastewater in livestock and production; using hygienic water; carrying out the cleaning of landscapes, environment, village roads, alleys; planting and taking care of flower roads to create a bright, green, clean and beautiful environment.

Minister Do Duc Duy and provincial leaders visited the OCOP product booth of Tran Yen district.

In 2024, the village mobilized people to build 800m of concrete road from the village main road to the hamlets; maintained 7km of lighting lines, installed and operated with capital contributed by the people; took care of 4 flower roads with a length of 2.5km. The self-management groups in the village always uphold the spirit of self-management of security and order, self-awareness, voluntary labor to clean the environment, classify, collect and treat household waste at the source so that the village roads and alleys are always bright, green, clean and beautiful. The village no longer has poor or near-poor households.

Giving gifts to disadvantaged households and exemplary households in the national solidarity movement in 2024.

Through assessment, 100% of the mass organizations have excellently completed their tasks, 5/6 self-management groups have excellently completed their tasks in 2024; 147/152 households have been evaluated, reaching 96.7% of households achieving the title of cultural family, learning family, happy family. In the village, there are 12 households voluntarily donating over 2,000 m2 of land, typically Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nga's household donated 243 m2, Mr. Nguyen Trung Lap's household donated 250 m2, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Lang's household donated 652 m2 to build public works and rural roads.

Minister Do Duc Duy was very excited to witness the transformation of the commune, the village and the results that the commune has achieved in recent times. The Minister affirmed that this is the result of the continuous efforts to develop the local socio-economy; the result of the spirit of solidarity, the cooperation of each person for the highest goal of making the village, the alley more beautiful, the environment clean and the life peaceful, prosperous and happy.

The Minister requested that authorities at all levels in Yen Bai province continue to pay attention to and promote the effectiveness of patriotic emulation campaigns and movements; focus on promoting the role of the Front Working Committee; promptly encourage and motivate advanced models, outstanding collectives and individuals; promote democracy, listen to people's opinions, thoughts and aspirations, care for the activities of the Front, Party committees and authorities at all levels continue to have many specific and practical actions and deeds, share, support and help people facing difficulties in life, develop evenly, and leave no one behind.

He hopes that people who are "united need to be more united", "determined need to be more determined", "made an effort need to make an effort" to work together to build and develop their homeland Minh Quan, Tran Yen, Yen Bai to become more and more prosperous and civilized.
