Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development inspects the work of preventing and combating risks caused by post-storm circulation in Mong Cai City

On the morning of July 23, Mr. Le Minh Hoan, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Deputy Head of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, inspected and directed the work of preventing damage that could occur due to floods and landslides in Mong Cai City. Accompanying him were Mr. Cao Tuong Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of relevant departments, branches and Mong Cai City.
Mong Cai City leaders quickly reported to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Deputy Head of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control on storm prevention work No. 2 in the city.
Directly inspecting the response to storm No. 2 and preventing possible damage risks caused by the tropical depression formed after storm No. 2 weakened at Mui Ngoc port (Binh Ngoc ward) and Trang Vinh lake (Hai Tien commune), the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development praised the proactiveness and positivity of Quang Ninh province in general and Mong Cai city in particular in responding to storm No. 2 and the tropical depression after the storm.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tuong Huy inspected the actual work of storm and tropical depression prevention at Mui Ngoc port (Binh Ngoc ward).
In particular, the work of calling on over 1,200 ships, rafts, and vessels operating on rivers, coastal areas, and boats from other provinces and cities operating in Mong Cai sea areas to safe shelters; propagating and supporting people to reinforce houses and cages and rafts for aquaculture at sea...
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Deputy Head of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, requested Mong Cai City to continue to focus, not to be subjective or negligent, to closely monitor the development of rain caused by the tropical depression after the storm; maintain the on-duty regime and provide information and reports from the grassroots to proactively and promptly handle arising situations.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Deputy Head of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, together with leaders of Quang Ninh province and Mong Cai city, inspected the management and operation work and prepared a plan to ensure the safety of Trang Vinh lake (Hai Tien commune, Mong Cai city).
At the same time, continue to deploy plans to prevent and evacuate people in areas at risk of flooding and landslides; proactively inspect and arrange forces to manage and operate, and prepare plans to ensure the safety of reservoirs in case of prolonged heavy rain; closely monitor the water flow on the Ka Long River, especially this evening and the following days when the tide rises.
Comrade Cao Tuong Huy, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, directed the Trang Vinh reservoir management unit to closely monitor the flood situation, proactively develop plans to ensure dam safety and control flood discharge downstream.
Faced with the complicated weather situation, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Deputy Head of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, also requested Mong Cai City to continue to proactively respond according to the motto "3 before, 4 on-site", with the highest goal being to ensure safety of people's lives and minimize property damage.
