Vietnam's Ministry of Defense donates border barracks construction project to Laos

General Chansamone Chanyalath - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Laos - presided over a solemn welcoming ceremony for General Phan Van Giang - Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Minister of National Defense of Vietnam - at the Pahang border gate area (Laos).

The two Defense Ministers also performed a saluting ceremony, painted the sovereignty markers, planted souvenir trees, and witnessed a joint patrol on land by the border protection forces of the two countries.

Immediately after the official welcoming ceremony for the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense delegation at the border gate, the two delegations of the Vietnamese and Lao Ministries of National Defense participated in activities in Sop Bao district, Hua Phan province.

Delegation of the Vietnamese and Lao Ministries of Defense visited and presented gifts to Pahang Primary and Secondary School.

Here, General Phan Van Giang affirmed that Vietnam and Laos are two neighboring countries, drinking from the same Mekong River and leaning against the majestic Truong Son mountain range.

"We believe and hope that students will always try to study and practice, contribute to building the country and become a bridge for the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

This is also the highest aspiration of generations of senior leaders of the two countries, local authorities and delegations of the two countries present here today," affirmed General Phan Van Giang.

Also in Sop Bao district (Hua Phan province), the two delegations attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the 214th Border Guard Company barracks (Lao People's Army), a gift from the Vietnam People's Army.

Here, General Phan Van Giang said that this is one of the typical projects that the two countries' Ministries of Defense have been cooperating to implement in recent times, a vivid manifestation of the solidarity and mutual support between the two countries and the two Armies.
