Ministry of Transport requires ensuring information security and network security during Tet

The Ministry of Transport has just sent a document to agencies, units and enterprises under the Ministry on strengthening information security and network security during the New Year and Lunar New Year holidays of 2025.

The Ministry of Transport said that the information security and network security situation in Vietnam often becomes very complicated during major national events and holidays, when hackers and bad guys take advantage of people's lack of vigilance to attack and spread malicious information on cyberspace.

The Ministry of Transport requires agencies, units and enterprises under the Ministry to urgently strengthen information security and network security during the Tet holiday (illustrative photo).

To ensure information security, network security, and proactively deal with all situations that may arise during the New Year and Lunar New Year 2025 holidays, the Ministry of Transport requires agencies, units, and enterprises to urgently and seriously strengthen the implementation of management and technical measures to ensure network security and safety for information systems serving the internal operations of the units and systems providing online services to users. Prioritize resources to deploy on-site monitoring and ensure network security 24/7.

Proactively review weaknesses and vulnerabilities in information systems under management; promptly update patches, configure to enhance system security and deploy preventive solutions to avoid being exploited for attacks.

At the same time, strengthen monitoring, supervision, proactively detect early risks and signs of cyber attacks, promptly handle arising problems. Assign technical staff to be on duty 24/7 and request network information security service providers (if any) to commit to arranging resources and human resources for the task of monitoring and protecting information systems during the holidays.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Vietnam Railways, and Vietnam Road Administration are responsible for directing their affiliated units to strengthen information security work and be ready to respond to information security incidents at crowded places such as airports, train stations, bus stations, etc.

The head of the unit directly directs the work of ensuring network information security and is responsible to the Minister if a network information security incident occurs at his/her unit.

Regularly exchange and coordinate with the Information Technology Center and relevant authorities to share and update the latest information on threats and risks of information security loss and receive guidance and support for prevention or when cyber attacks occur.
