The Ministry of Transport will continue to direct agencies and units to strengthen inspection of fare declaration and posting of transport fares according to regulations, especially during holidays and Tet... to better serve people's travel needs.
Accordingly, with regard to passenger transport services during holidays and Tet, every year, the Ministry of Transport has documents directing agencies and units to strengthen transport services to better serve people's travel needs during holidays such as New Year's Day, Lunar New Year, April 30-May 1 holidays, September 2 holidays, etc.
In particular, the Ministry has directed relevant agencies, units and individuals in the entire transport sector to strengthen inspection of the implementation of fare declaration, posting of transport fares, train and bus ticket prices and strictly handle violations according to regulations; promote the application of electronic ticket sales, publicly post ticket prices by route, time and type of service.
Regarding the road sector, the Vietnam Road Administration requested the Department of Transport to direct bus stations to take measures to prevent speculation and ticket trading, and not to allow illegal ticket price increases that cause social disorder; transport businesses must not increase fares or, if they do, must comply with measures to stabilize transport fares according to the direction of the Government and relevant ministries and branches; have forms of priority and incentives for people in difficult circumstances, policy families, and the disabled; declare and post prices and ensure tickets are sold at the correct price.
For the aviation sector, airlines build products and domestic airfares within the price range prescribed in Circular No. 34/2023 of the Ministry of Transport promulgating the price range for passenger transport services on domestic routes and related legal regulations, in accordance with the needs of passengers and the market in each period.
During the holidays and Tet, the Ministry of Transport also directed the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to regularly monitor and urge airlines to fully publicize air transport ticket policies and at the same time request airlines to support, guide and answer customers' questions during the use of services...
In 2024, the Ministry of Transport directed the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to strengthen State management and strictly manage airfares; through inspection of ticket sales activities of airlines, it was found that Vietnamese airlines sold tickets within the price range for passenger transport services on domestic flights according to regulations.
The Ministry of Transport recommends that local authorities and functional units continue to coordinate and direct the inspection of the implementation of fare declaration and posting of local transport fares... to overcome and minimize illegal price increases, especially during holidays and Tet, and at the same time take strict measures to handle violations according to regulations.
