At the regular Government press conference on the afternoon of November 9, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade had worked with representatives of the cross-border e-commerce platforms Temu and Shein and requested that business registration procedures be completed in November 2024.
In addition, the ministry has notified these two exchanges to operate in accordance with Vietnamese law. After warnings and notifications have been issued but they still do not comply, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will coordinate with relevant agencies to implement technical measures such as blocking applications and blocking domain names.
During this process, the Ministry has also worked with relevant agencies to continue to strongly strengthen inspection and examination measures, enhance communication, guide consumers, warn of risks and dangers of having commercial relations with unlicensed e-commerce platforms, and continue to promote communication and the movement of Vietnamese people prioritizing using Vietnamese goods.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long also said that the ministry has reported to the Prime Minister and is reviewing relevant legal regulations, proposing research on measures to perfect the legal framework of this field in the coming time.
