Specifically, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, on November 17, the Government issued Decree No. 80/2023 amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 95 and Decree 83 of the Government on petroleum trading.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade officially announced that the date for this period's gasoline price adjustment is November 23.
Accordingly, the time for managing gasoline prices is carried out on Thursdays every week. In case the time for managing prices coincides with the Lunar New Year, it is carried out as follows: If Thursday falls on the last day of the Lunar New Year (29th or 30th of Lunar New Year), the management of gasoline prices is carried out on the previous Wednesday. If Thursday is the first, second or third day of Tet, the time for managing gasoline prices is carried out on the fourth day of Tet.
In case the operating time coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it shall be implemented as follows: If the fifth day coincides with the previous Wednesday.
If Thursday falls on any of the remaining holidays, the petrol price adjustment period will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday.
In case the price of petroleum products fluctuates abnormally, affecting socio-economic development and people's lives, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is responsible for reporting to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision on the appropriate time to manage petroleum prices.
Therefore, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, after Decree 80 takes effect, the gasoline management period will be implemented next Thursday (November 23).
Previously, according to the provisions of Decrees 95 and 83, the afternoon of the 1st, 11th and 21st of each month (if it falls on a holiday or Tet holiday, it will be moved to the next day or the price will be adjusted in the next period) is the period for adjusting gasoline prices.
