The program takes place from July 12-16, 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai shared that the world economy in the first 6 months of 2023 faced many difficulties and challenges, the Russia-Ukraine war lasted for a long time, global inflation, although it has cooled down, is still high, and tight monetary policy has strongly impacted economic growth, investment, and consumption.

Many major economies, including our country's important trade partners, have slowed down their growth, even falling into recession. Vietnam's import and export activities have also been affected and faced many difficulties.

In that context, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has been and is continuing to accompany localities across the country in general and provinces and cities in the Southern region in particular to promote trade and support market development for local products with strengths.

Regarding the effectiveness of trade promotion programs, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan said that in the first months of 2023, geopolitical conflicts in some countries continued to develop complicatedly, fuel prices fluctuated rapidly, global inflation increased leading to a decrease in consumption trends; threats to food security, climate change, natural disasters, and epidemics in many places around the world have negatively impacted the export activities of goods of Vietnam in general and the City in particular, directly affecting the process of economic recovery and development of the whole country. Thanks to the effectiveness of strongly promoted trade promotion activities, the export turnover of goods continued to have an upward trend month after month compared to the previous month.
