Binh Phuoc wins ASOCIO digital government award 2024

The award ceremony was part of the Digital Trust Forum (ASOCIO Digital Summit). The large-scale event took place over 3 days from November 6 to 8 in Tokyo, Japan with more than 600 delegates attending, including 400 delegates from Japan and 200 international delegates.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Quang, Director of the Department of Information and Communications, representing the Binh Phuoc provincial government, received the ASOCIO 2024 digital government award.

ASOCIO is an annual information technology (IT) award given to individuals, agencies, organizations, and businesses with outstanding achievements and particularly important contributions to the development and application of IT in 24 ASOCIO member economies . In 2024, the ASOCIO award will be expanded to 10 categories and outstanding agencies, organizations, and businesses from member countries and economies.

According to the announcement of the organizing committee, Vietnam has 2 localities winning the ASOCIO 2024 award: Binh Phuoc province in the Digital government category and Thua Thien Hue province in the Smart City category.

Binh Phuoc was awarded this award for its outstanding results in implementing digital strategies and solutions to significantly improve the quality of services for people and the transparency of government operations. Specifically, in 2023, Binh Phuoc demonstrated its vision and seriously implemented digital transformation plans, achieving many achievements in both economic activities and digital transformation. Notably, it achieved the highest economic growth rate (GRDP) in the Southeast region (8.34%) and was honored at the Vietnam Digital Awards 2023 in the category of "Outstanding digital transformation state agency" with the winning digital technology solution being "Binh Phuoc Source Information System".

In the process of building a digital government, Binh Phuoc has built and deployed e-Government with many high-level online public services, allowing people and businesses to carry out administrative procedures conveniently and quickly; deployed a digital transformation website and a column of the same name on the provincial Information Portal to disseminate information and raise awareness of digital transformation; over 90% of officials in departments, branches, sectors and People's Committees at all levels are trained in technology skills and digital transformation. In 2023, the province will coordinate with the Ministry of Information and Communications to organize 20 training courses for 13,199 officials and employees, and a separate class for 7,429 members of the community digital technology group.

Binh Phuoc has officially issued a digital transformation strategy until 2025, focusing on investing in and completing digital infrastructure; deploying integrated operation centers (IOCs) at the district level, and fixed broadband infrastructure covering all 843 villages and hamlets.

The province has deployed the application of electronic population database, helping to improve the management of population information in the province, ensuring accuracy and speed; put into operation the local government service platform (LGSP), connecting the province's information system and database with the national database. This platform facilitates horizontal and vertical connections at 4 levels, including 188 administrative units, 46 non-public units and direct links with the national data exchange platform...

ASOCIO was established in 1984 in Tokyo, Japan and is currently the most active international trade organization in the Asia-Pacific region with 24 associations, representing more than 10,000 multinational enterprises. ASOCIO Award is a prestigious information technology award organized by ASOCIO since 2003.
