Binh Duong spends more than 1,000 billion to build the first underpass at the intersection of National Highway 13.

TPO - To solve traffic jams and create urban beauty, Binh Duong province spent more than 1,000 billion VND to build an underpass at the intersection. This is the first underpass project, highly anticipated by local people.

On March 9, Tien Phong reporter recorded that the construction area of the underpass at Phuoc Kien 5-way intersection (Hiep Thanh ward, Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province) has started the first stages of implementation.

Binh Duong Province authorities have conducted surveys and organized traffic to conduct geological survey drilling for the underpass construction project. The geological survey drilling is expected to be completed by March 16.

Mr. Do Huu Vinh, Head of the geological drilling team for construction survey, BR Design Consulting Co., Ltd. said that the design consulting unit is conducting geological survey drilling for the basement section of the project at HK1 (located on the sidewalk of Huynh Van Cu Street) and HK5 (located on the grassy park of National Highway 13).

According to Mr. Vinh, the drilling survey aims to collect samples and have data to serve the research work to report on the geological construction, to serve the work of preparing the design documents for the construction of the project. This is an important activity, serving as the basis for building the design drawings for the construction of the project to ensure quality; ensure safety as well as the efficiency of the investment project.

Drilling steps at HK1; HK2; HK5 are arranged by the unit to drill on the green corridor; sidewalk, fenced and do not occupy the road surface, so there is little or no impact on traffic.

After completing the survey drilling at locations HK1; HK2; HK5, the survey drilling will be conducted at locations HK3; HK4 on Pham Ngoc Thach Street. At these locations, the construction unit will arrange a construction signaling system such as warning signs; directional signs; barriers; flashing warning lights; ... organize traffic flow from a distance; arrange lookouts wearing reflective clothing and regulate traffic within the survey drilling construction area.

The construction of the underpass at the Phuoc Kien 5-way intersection is a traffic-road tunnel project, a level II project. The project was invested in and built to solve traffic congestion, ensure traffic safety for vehicles traveling through the Phuoc Kien 5-way intersection area; improve the traffic capacity of National Highway 13; Pham Ngoc Thach; Huynh Van Cu; Nguyen Van Tiet at the intersection area.

The project has a total investment of more than 1,000 billion VND from the Binh Duong provincial budget. The project has a reinforced concrete tunnel scale, a design life of 100 years; a design clearance of 5m; a design speed of 40km/h for tunnels and access roads on both sides of the tunnel. The tunnel is underpassed in the direction from Huynh Van Cu Street to Pham Ngoc Thach Street. The approach roads at both ends of the tunnel are about 229.60m; the length of the route is about 629.96m.
