With a production method following the value chain from afforestation, processing and product consumption, Binh Dinh is gradually becoming a high-tech forest product processing center in the region.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh, as one of the "wood industry capitals" of Vietnam, Binh Dinh has more than 320 wood processing enterprises operating, concentrated in large industrial parks such as Phu Tai and Long My, with a total investment capital of about 13,000 billion VND.

Binh Dinh provincial leaders said that this event not only promotes trade in the wood industry but also contributes to promoting the image of Binh Dinh - a dynamic, friendly destination with great development potential.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Bui Quang Hung - Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vietnamese Wood Industry in general and the Binh Dinh Wood Industry in particular are facing many great opportunities to make a strong breakthrough.
Currently, Vietnam is a major wood exporting country in the world, ranking second in Asia with an estimated export turnover of more than 16 billion USD in 2024, an increase of more than 20% compared to 2023.
According to Mr. Hung, global consumption trends are shifting towards sustainable, environmentally friendly products; especially in the outdoor furniture sector. New generation free trade agreements such as the Vietnam - European Union Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP), and the Vietnam - UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) continue to open up tariff incentives and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese wood enterprises to penetrate deeper into international markets.
In particular, Binh Dinh Wood Industry has advantages in highly skilled human resources, a closely linked business ecosystem and active support from local authorities in developing production and logistics infrastructure.
However, in addition to great opportunities, the Vietnamese wood industry also faces many challenges. Key export markets such as the US, EU, and Japan are increasingly tightening regulations related to legal wood traceability, carbon emission reduction, and social responsibility.
Mr. Le Minh Thien - Chairman of Binh Dinh Timber and Forest Products Association, Head of Q-FAIR 2025 Organizing Committee informed: In 2024, the Wood industry will maintain its position as one of the 6 key export product groups, contributing 16.3 billion USD to Vietnam's export turnover, an increase of 21% compared to 2023.
Binh Dinh Wood Industry alone with its "purely Vietnamese" business community surpassed the 1 billion USD export turnover mark for the first time, contributing 62% of the total export turnover of the whole province.
Continuously expanding market share in major markets such as the United States, EU, Korea, Japan, China, etc., the Vietnamese Wood industry is positioning Vietnam to become the world's leading wood furniture manufacturing and exporting country, bringing Vietnamese wood furniture into homes, gardens, and constructions in more than 150 countries and territories around the world.
The Chairman of the Binh Dinh Timber and Forest Products Association said that the Vietnamese wood processing industry, especially in Binh Dinh - a famous place as the center of the Outdoor industry, is demonstrating a strong rise, creativity and innovation more than ever.
The Q-FAIR 2025 International Fair is not only an opportunity for businesses to display wood products and outdoor products with rich, unique designs and good quality, but also an opportunity to demonstrate creativity and application of advanced technology and machinery, especially machines integrated with artificial intelligence (AI) in processing and manufacturing wood products.
Thereby aiming to develop a sustainable and effective wood processing industry in the period of 2021 - 2030, Binh Dinh Wood Industry will reach 2 billion USD and reach 20 billion USD in wood export turnover nationwide.
