In the Central Highlands region

After many days of stability, the price of live pigs in the Central region today increased in Binh Thuan and Lam Dong, reaching 61,000 VND/kg and 62,000 VND/kg, respectively.

Thus, Lam Dong is currently the only province in the region with live pig prices reaching 62,000 VND/kg. The remaining localities are purchasing at prices ranging from 60,000 - 61,000 VND/kg.

In the Southern region

In the Southern region, prices increased in many places: Dong Nai, Vung Tau, Binh Duong and Tay Ninh reached the same price of 62,000 VND/kg; An Giang and Kien Giang reached 63,000 VND/kg; Tra Vinh reached 61,000 VND/kg.

Vietnam’s pork output is forecast to increase by 3% to 3.8 million tonnes due to expected herd expansion as the industry consolidates and improves African swine fever management, according to the latest report from the USDA.

In addition, because the supply for Tet is affected by storm No. 3, the price of live pigs may increase in the coming time.
