The delegation was led by Comrade Kong-keo Xay-song-kham - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary, and Provincial Governor.

Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy congratulated the achievements that the province has made in politics, economy - society, national defense - security, foreign affairs and international cooperation; in particular, he expressed his impression of the growth rate, the rate of poor households in the province has decreased rapidly, now only 4%. That affirms the care for economic development, in parallel with the care for social security policies, especially for the poor of the province.

Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy informed the delegation about some basic situations of Nghe An province in the past year, discussed some ways of Nghe An in taking care of poor households, households with housing difficulties, and taking care of Tet for poor households.

At the meeting, Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy and Bolikhamxay Provincial Party Secretary and Governor expressed special interest and discussed issues related to promoting the formation of the Hanoi - Vientiane expressway with a route passing through the Thanh Thuy - Nam On border gate pair. When formed, this will be a route connecting the two capitals of the two countries and a new symbol of the Vietnam - Laos relationship.

I am pleased that the Provincial Party Secretary is interested in directing the relevant agencies to inspect the Hanoi - Vientiane expressway connection point with the route passing through the Thanh Thuy - Nam On border gate pair. This is a connection that creates trade value and is also a symbol of the Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam relationship.
