This morning, December 25, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Long Hai visited and worked at La Lay International Border Gate, inspecting the implementation of investment projects to build National Highway 15D and the project of conveyor belts to transport coal from Laos to Vietnam. After the on-site inspection, Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Long Hai listened to the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee quickly report on the implementation of the investment project to build National Highway 15D and the project of a conveyor system to transport coal from Laos to Vietnam.
Regarding the investment project to build National Highway 15D, the route is about 92 km long, the scale of a grade III-IV road, with a cross-section of 2-4 lanes. Of which, the section from My Thuy seaport to the National Highway is 13.8 km long. The Provincial People's Committee has proposed that the Central Government support resources for upgrading with a total estimated cost of VND 950 billion and has been approved in principle by the Ministry of Transport; the section from National Highway 1 to Cam Lo - La Son Expressway is 8 km long and the section from Cam Lo - La Son Expressway to Ho Chi Minh Road, West Branch, is 34 km long and has not been invested in construction, so the province is proposing that the Prime Minister approve the investment in the route in the form of public investment with capital support from the increased revenue of the Central budget in 2024 with an estimated cost of VND 990 billion instead of the PPP public-private partnership method.
Regarding the project of a conveyor system to transport coal from Laos to Vietnam, the Provincial People's Committee has approved the investment policy and approved the investor, Nam Tien Company Limited, for the project to build a conveyor system to transport coal from Laos to Vietnam within the territory of Vietnam with a length of more than 6.1 km, with a total investment of 1,489 billion VND.
Regarding the project of a warehouse for goods gathering in A Deng village, A Ngo commune, Dakrong district, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a document approving the investment policy and approving the investor to implement the project on an area of 12.5 hectares with a total investment capital of about 715 billion VND.
At La Lay International Border Gate, after listening to the representatives of La Lay International Border Gate Customs Branch, La Lay International Border Gate Border Guard Station and the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board reporting on the management, import and export and security situation of the border gate and border area, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Long Hai acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts, attempts and results achieved by the units in the management and control of the border area and facilitating import and export activities, immigration through La Lay International Border Gate, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
In particular, border guards and customs forces have closely and effectively coordinated with relevant units in crime prevention, especially the illegal trafficking and transportation of drugs through border gates and along the border, ensuring social order and security and border security in the area.
Regarding the recommendations of the customs and border guards on some difficulties in the management and investment in construction of projects at La Lay International Border Gate, the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments and branches are assigned to review and consider in order to soon have a solution.
On this occasion, Secretary of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Long Hai and the delegation offered incense at the 2nd Corps Relic Site, the 6th Regiment Memorial Site in Ba Long Commune; visited and presented gifts to Mrs. Ho Thi Uoi's household in Mai Son Village, Ba Long Commune, Dakrong District, one of the beneficiaries of the program to build and donate houses to people in need under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses supported by the Ministry of Public Security and the National Target Programs.
During the working program, Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Long Hai and the delegation had a working session with the Standing Committee of the Dakrong District Party Committee on the socio-economic development situation, ensuring national defense and security, Party building work, the political system in 2024, key tasks in 2025 and reported on the implementation of Project 197 and the policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area.
