On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), on the afternoon of July 19, the delegation of Thanh Hoa province led by comrade Do Trong Hung, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery, Anh Son district; offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Truong Bon National Historical Site, Do Luong district, Nghe An province.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, Provincial Party Secretary Do Trong Hung and members of the delegation offered incense and burned incense at the Temple of President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs; the martyrs' memorial - Vietnam - Laos Martyrs' Cemetery; and observed a minute of silence to express their infinite gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs who devoted their youth and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the noble international revolutionary cause, and for the happiness of the people.

The Vietnam-Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery is the resting place of more than 11,000 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died while performing noble international duties in Laos. Among the more than 3,000 martyrs' graves whose identities and hometowns have been identified, 348 martyrs are children of Thanh Hoa. Thanh Hoa is also one of the provinces with the largest number of martyrs' graves gathered here.

The delegation of Thanh Hoa province thanked the Cemetery Management Board for taking good care of the graves of heroic martyrs resting at the cemetery, including heroic martyrs who are children of Thanh Hoa.

Truong Bon - a place name in My Son commune, Do Luong district, Nghe An province has gone down in history as a legend about the sacred land soaked in the blood of heroic martyrs and a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism in the resistance war against America to save the country.

From 1964 to 1968, Truong Bon suffered nearly 19,000 bombs of all kinds and tens of thousands of missiles; from June to October 1968 alone, nearly 2,700 bombs of all kinds were dropped on this land.

During those years, despite the rain of bombs, cadres, soldiers, youth volunteers, transport workers, and militiamen stayed on the road day and night, making efforts to defuse bombs, repair roads, clear routes, and connect the cross-Vietnam traffic artery from the great rear of the socialist North to the great frontline battlefield of the South.

At the Truong Bon fire coordinates, 1,240 officers and soldiers fought bravely and heroically sacrificed, including the tragic sacrifice of 13 youth volunteers of Company 317 on October 31, 1968, right before the US imperialists were forced to stop bombing the North at 0:00 on November 1, 1968, leaving behind an inconsolable grief that forever touched people's hearts.

On the journey back to the source, with deep feelings and gratitude, Provincial Party Secretary Do Trong Hung and members of the delegation respectfully lit incense to express their respect and deep gratitude at the graves of 13 heroic martyrs of the "Steel Squad" and the Memorial Church of 1,240 martyrs who sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and reunification.

In front of the heroic martyrs, on behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Thanh Hoa province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Do Trong Hung and members of the delegation vowed to promote the tradition of solidarity, promote the spirit of self-reliance, make the most of the attention and support of the Central Government and external resources to resolutely fulfill the tasks of 2024 - the year of accelerating and breaking through to reach the finish line in implementing the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, building Thanh Hoa into a growth pole in the North of the Fatherland.
