Ms. Nhung - a Literature teacher - has created a reading habit for her children by reading books with them every night and the three of them sharing their feelings and thoughts about the stories they have just read. That has helped Huyen Vi and Quang Minh not only read books but also know how to express their personal opinions on the issues they are researching.

“The children have developed critical thinking in response to the issues that the three of us have read. They often have opposite thoughts or look at issues from a different perspective than their mother. Through the debates, the children have realized that there are still many issues that need to be explored in Vietnamese history and literature. These things have helped them have better ways of responding to issues that many other friends only look at in the same direction, but they have different perspectives and perspectives. This is something I am very proud of my children for,” Ms. Do Thi Cam Nhung confided.

Not only that, Quang Minh and Huyen Vi’s love and passion for literature and history were also “fueled” by their father, poet Nguyen Trung Kien. Every day, history and literature are topics that frequently appear in the conversations between their parents and Huyen Vi and Quang Minh.

Sharing about the significance of her children's participation and winning the UPU letter writing contest, Ms. Do Thi Cam Nhung said that the UPU letter writing contest helped Nguyen Do Huyen Vi mature and become a confident person to explore her own abilities.

From a quiet and shy girl, after winning the first prize in the UPU national letter writing contest in 2017, after many times of contact with the media, Huyen Vi became more confident. Discovering Huyen Vi's good voice, Da Nang Radio and Television Station hired this female student to be the MC for the program "Hoa diem muoi".

It was also here that Huyen Vi discovered her ability to host programs. During her high school years, Huyen Vi often worked as an MC for programs at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted. Currently, Huyen Vi is studying Event Management at Greenwich University and has always been an excellent student of the school.

Like his sister, Quang Minh is also quiet and introverted. Ms. Do Thi Cam Nhung said that Quang Minh is very passionate when watching historical films and loves to learn about the history of his country and the world. Quang Minh also wondered what to do to make young people love history more.

“Revealing” the project that Huyen Vi and Quang Minh are cherishing, Ms. Do Thi Cam Nhung said that currently, the two sisters are collaborating with some friends who share the same interest to make short animated films about Vietnamese history with the desire to help young people understand more deeply about the country's history.

In the coming time, in addition to the goal of taking the entrance exam to Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, the champion of this year's UPU letter writing contest will continue to practice his favorite sports such as chess, swimming, running, and especially continue to practice drawing to become a graphic engineer or animator in the future.

Surpassing nearly 1.5 million entries for the 53rd UPU International Letter Writing Contest - 2024 in Vietnam, Nguyen Do Quang Minh's letter about children lacking love won the national first prize.

He chose to transform into a postal worker in the “Santa Claus” village to send a letter to the UPU Director General in 2174. Before writing the letter, the student from Da Nang realized that children all over the world have their own dreams and aspirations that they dare not tell adults for fear of being laughed at. However, there is one person who always listens to and fulfills children’s dreams: Santa Claus.

“I hope to inspire many children to participate in writing letters and expressing their thoughts so that no matter how long it takes, the postal service will still exist,” Nguyen Do Quang Minh shared.

Quang Minh's letter winning the 2024 UPU National First Prize was translated into French by the Organizing Committee and sent to the Universal Postal Union - UPU in Switzerland for the international competition.

The letter won the first prize in the 2024 UPU letter writing contest by a Da Nang male student . Transforming into a 72-year-old man working at the post office to talk about children lacking love, Nguyen Do Quang Minh surpassed 1.5 million entries to win the first prize in the 2024 UPU letter writing contest.
