At 5:45 a.m. on June 1, at the Doc Nhap intersection, Poong village, Tam Chung commune, Muong Lat district, the anti-drug and crime force of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard and Tam Chung Border Guard Station caught Giang A Mang (the main suspect in the case) red-handed while illegally transporting drugs.

At the scene, the police seized 2 kg of opium resin, 400 synthetic drug pills, 1 motorbike and 1 mobile phone.
The above drugs were purchased by Giang A Mang who illegally crossed the border to Na Sang village, Xop Bau district, Hua Phan province (Laos) and transported through the trail near Landmark 272 to On village, Tam Chung commune for inland consumption.
Giang A Mang is the leader of a drug trafficking ring that illegally transported drugs from Laos to Vietnam and sold them in the northern provinces.
During the arrest, the subject recklessly fought back fiercely, using his motorbike to ram straight into the police force in an attempt to escape. However, with the spirit of bravery and determination to suppress crime, the Border Guard officers and soldiers were able to control the subject in time.
The Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard Command is directing the crime-fighting force to conduct investigation and handling activities according to the provisions of law.
