Ms. Nguyen Thi Thiem (residing on Le Loi Street, Ngo Quyen District, Hai Phong ) reported to VietNamNet that her daughter, MTT, a 10th grade student at Phan Chu Trinh High School (Hai Phong), was beaten and threatened to be killed by a group of people.

Ms. Thiem said that her daughter had to miss many days of school because she was afraid to go to school. Constantly threatened, the female student was in a state of panic and her studies declined. It is known that Ms. Thiem is raising 3 young children by herself, MTT is the eldest daughter.

The incident began at 11:30 a.m. on March 18, when MTT (who was in grade 9 at Hong Bang Secondary School) was taken to the school gate by a group of friends, forced onto a motorbike and taken to an abandoned, deserted project area to be beaten up. The group of teenagers took turns assaulting T., then filmed the clip and posted it on their personal Facebook pages.

Ms. Thiem recounted: “When I received the information and arrived, the group of people who beat T. had left. At that time, his face was swollen, his nose and mouth were bleeding. Looking at him, I felt extremely heartbroken. I took him to Dong Khe Ward Police Station (Ngo Quyen District) to report the incident.

Here, the police received information and took T's initial statement. But after that, the matter was not resolved. The group of teenagers who knew I had reported them to the police did not show any fear but instead challenged me and continued to text me, declaring that they would find my child and beat me again."

According to female student T., the people who beat her included: TA, NHQ, GB, TPN, MT, HL, HDA, all residing in Hai Phong City. The reason they attacked T. was due to conflicts in personal love affairs.

Fearing that she would be too busy with work to keep her child safe, Ms. Thiem moved her daughter to Ho Chi Minh City for temporary shelter.

On July 20, she took her child to Hai Phong to study at Phan Chu Trinh High School. After T. had been in school for a few days, the group of friends found out and immediately texted and called to threaten her, promising to come to the school gate to assault her.

“The subjects even came to my house, sent pictures of knives and swords, declared to “beat both mother and child” and told me to “buy a coffin to prepare for the funeral”. These past few days, my daughter has not dared to go to school. I am busy with work and cannot pick her up and drop her off, so I had to ask for a temporary leave of absence, waiting for the police to handle the situation. Only on the days I pick her up and drop her off, T. is allowed to go to school. I have sent a petition to the Ngo Quyen district police for help,” Ms. Thiem informed.

Speaking to VietNamNet reporters, the leader of Ngo Quyen District Police said that the unit had received Ms. Thiem's request to investigate the group of people who beat and threatened her daughter. The leader of the District Police also requested the Dong Khe Ward Police to transfer the initial file to the district. At the same time, MTT and her guardian (Ms. Thiem) were invited to give statements.

The police have identified the group of people involved in the assault and threat against MTT. However, these are teenagers who have dropped out of school and wandered away from home, making it very difficult to identify them. Because the whereabouts of the subjects have not been found, the police are still searching for them.
