According to the indictment, in July 2023, Yen was hired to work at a fraudulent company in Cambodia managed by Chinese people.
With the mission of defrauding and luring people to Cambodia, Yen posted information on social networks with the content of recruiting people from 18 to 35 years old to work online in Tay Ninh province. However, the actual workplace was in Cambodia.
In addition, Yen also posted information about light work, high salary with income from 18-23 million VND/month.
At the end of August 2023, TTDH (born in 2009; residing in Vinh Chau town) accessed Yen's job posting and applied.
Yen approached H. and instructed H. to go to Tay Ninh province to receive a job. Upon arrival, H. was captured by Yen and several others and taken to Cambodia. In Cambodia, H. was assigned to commit fraud on an online sales application.
After working for about a month, H. quit the job and was denied food and water by the company and asked his family to transfer 49 million VND to redeem him.
Because the family was unable to pay the ransom, the company released H. after a while. H. immediately went to the police in Cambodia for help returning to Vietnam.
