Bellingham correctly guessed Kane's penalty kick

Germany's Harry Kane revealed that his compatriot Jude Bellingham put pressure on him and correctly predicted the direction of his penalty kick in Bayern's 2-2 draw with Real in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.

In the 55th minute, Jamal Musiala dribbled from the left into the penalty area, was kicked by Lucas Vazquez and brought a penalty for Bayern. When Kane took the ball and stepped up to the penalty spot, Bellingham approached the senior striker and said something. Referee Clement Turpin had to intervene and ask the midfielder born in 2003 to leave the penalty area.

Kane then fired into the left corner, against the judgment of goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to make it 2-1. This was Kane's 11th direct involvement in a goal - eight goals and three assists - in the Champions League this season - the best statistics by an English player in a single Champions League campaign.

"On the pitch, I don't know what Bellingham was saying," Kane told TNT Sports immediately after the match. "I saw him mumbling something. When I'm in that moment, I don't care about anything else around me. I'm sure Bellingham was saying something to try to distract me."

The Bayern striker then spoke to Bellingham to ask about the situation. "It turned out Bellingham said to me, 'I know you're going to shoot to the left'. He tried to tell the Real goalkeeper that too," Kane continued in another interview. "But I still shot to the left as I originally intended, because I saw Lunin dive early. It was a good penalty."

At the Allianz Arena, Leroy Sane and Kane scored for Bayern, while Vinicius scored twice for Real. The 2-2 result means the two teams will have a rematch in the second leg of the semi-final in Spain on May 8. Kane credits experiences like the one against Real in the Champions League semi-final as a reason for joining Bayern and is confident of reaching the final at Wembley on June 1.

Bayern had a disappointing season when they lost 0-3 to RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup, were eliminated from the German Cup by third-tier Saarbrucken and ended their 11-year dominance of the Bundesliga. The Champions League is the remaining chance for the "Gray Tigers" to aim for the title.

However, Kane still had an explosive season on a personal level. Since joining Bayern for a total fee of 132 million USD - a record in German football, the English striker has had 43 goals and 11 assists in 43 matches in all competitions. He achieved the best scoring record in a season and broke many Bundesliga records.

Asked if he needed to win the Champions League to prove leaving Tottenham was the right decision, Kane replied: "I'm going to be here for many years, not just this year. Of course, the expectation at the beginning of the year was to win trophies. It hasn't gone the way we wanted in the domestic leagues, but the Champions League is the biggest trophy, and we still have a chance."

Meanwhile, captain goalkeeper Manuel Neuer said: "We should have won today, but the chance is still there in the second leg. Looking at the match, Bayern deserved to win. Now let's focus on the second leg, because the winner will go to the final."
