At noon on May 24, VTC News reporters contacted Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao (33 years old, living in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai ), the mother of HMH (2 years old) who was abused by a teacher at Tuoi Ngoc Kindergarten.

According to Ms. Thao, she sent her child to study at Tuoi Ngoc Kindergarten (Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai) from February 27 with a tuition fee of 1,610,000 VND.

Every day, Ms. Thao takes her child to school at around 7:20 and picks him up at 5:00 p.m. On the day of the incident, she picked her child up late and the weather was bad, so it was not until she got home that she discovered the bruises on her child's body.

Specifically, at 5:20 p.m. on May 17, she picked up her child at Tuoi Ngoc Kindergarten (Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai). Because it was raining and dark, she quickly took her child back to her rented room without observing carefully.

Returning to the room, after changing her child's clothes, she discovered bruises on her child's forehead and cheeks, along with five finger marks. Immediately, Ms. Thao contacted the homeroom teacher, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Huong, to ask why, but received the answer that the children were playing with each other.

Not accepting that reason, she contacted Ms. Vu Thi Ngoc Yen, Principal of Tuoi Ngoc Kindergarten, to request a resolution to the matter.

At 8:00 p.m. the same day, after she posted her son's photo on the class's Zalo group, Principal Vu Thi Ngoc Yen and the school's accountant went to the family's room to apologize.

"I asked to see the camera again, but because I felt so guilty towards my child and couldn't keep calm, I only glanced at it and saw teacher Huong slapping my child repeatedly in the face," said Ms. Thao.

On the morning of May 18, Ms. Thao and her husband and her younger sister went to the school to contact the matter. There, Ms. Huong admitted to physically impacting baby H. twice to help him eat better. Ms. Huong also admitted that the act of beating the baby had happened before, not just now.

"Currently, the bruises have faded and her mental state is stable. She is playing again, but she is still scared at mealtimes and still startled in the evening. I have kept her home from school. I hope the authorities will strictly handle child abuse to avoid harming the children," Ms. Thao said indignantly.

Responding to VTC News, Ms. Vu Thi Ngoc Yen, Principal of Tuoi Ngoc Kindergarten (Bien Hoa City) confirmed that there was an incident where the teacher slapped a boy about 31 times in the face during lunch.

Ms. Yen said that on the evening of May 17, she and a teacher went to H.'s house to visit, encourage and apologize to the family.

On the morning of May 18, at the family's request, the school took H. to Au Co Hospital (Bien Hoa City). There, doctors concluded that the child had suffered soft tissue injuries and psychological effects.

Ms. Yen added that this morning (May 24), the school took Ms. Huong to the hospital for examination because she showed signs of panic, stopped eating, and cried. The doctor's conclusion showed that Ms. Huong showed signs of panic and severe stress. Before that, Ms. Huong was normal.

According to Ms. Yen, the school signed a contract with Ms. Huong in 2018. Ms. Huong adopted a 2-month-old boy (currently 1 year old) and took care of her younger sister who was in high school, so the school created conditions for Ms. Huong to stay at the school.

Currently, Ms. Huong has been suspended from teaching. However, the school will still let her stay at the school until the incident is resolved.
