Promoting achievements in agricultural and rural development in the capital
The third Hanoi Agricultural Products and Craft Village Festival in 2024 is an important and practical event to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Hanoi Party Committee (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), and the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (November 30, 1954 - November 30, 2024).
The festival is organized to create favorable conditions for all levels, sectors, economic sectors, organizations, businesses and individuals to participate in trade promotion activities of agricultural products and craft village products. At the same time, it promotes economic growth and development in the agricultural and rural areas of Hanoi; especially accelerates the new rural construction program, preserves the space of the village community and traditional products and products; creates motivation to restructure the agricultural sector in a sustainable direction, contributing to the comprehensive development of agriculture and rural areas.
Within the framework of the Festival, many events and activities took place such as: organizing the opening and closing ceremonies, the art program "70 years of aspiration to build" in the opening ceremony of the Festival; Displaying, promoting, introducing, promoting trade of products in the field of agricultural and rural development and conferences, seminars, competitions...
Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Dinh Hoa said that the organization, products displayed and exhibited at the Festival were arranged and designed with many beautiful and suitable miniature landscape areas for visitors to enjoy and take photos. The displayed products all met the criteria of hygiene and safety and the product quality met the shopping needs of the people. Security, order, hygiene, health, fire prevention and fighting, and lighting for the Festival were ensured.
The Festival has a scale of 15,000 m2, introducing products in the field of agricultural and rural development of Hanoi and a number of provinces and cities and is arranged into the following areas: area for displaying ornamental plants; area for displaying, introducing and promoting typical agricultural products and craft villages of districts, towns; area for agricultural products and craft villages; area for demonstrating the skills of craft village artisans; area for displaying typical 4-5 star OCOP products, displaying award-winning craft village products in 2024; area for displaying community tourism spots, agricultural and rural tourism models in Hanoi; area for enjoying the quintessence of Vietnamese tea;
Area for performing arts and introducing Vietnamese cuisine; area for displaying, introducing and manufacturing gift and souvenir products; high-tech agricultural area; machinery, equipment and materials for agricultural production and craft villages; standard booth area for displaying agricultural products and craft villages of provinces, cities and enterprises, organizations and cooperatives.
In addition, there are also areas displaying miniature landscapes (ceramic miniature landscapes, One Pillar Pagoda miniature landscapes, fruit tower miniature landscapes, garden house miniature landscapes, Hanoi flower miniature landscapes, craft village miniature landscapes...) to serve as check-in and photo spots for visitors to visit and shop; food area and culinary demonstrations by artisans; areas for working and demonstrating the skills of Hanoi craft village artisans, where visitors can also experience and participate in working with artisans to create products.
In particular, the Festival also displays 50 beautiful and unique photos of Hanoi's agriculture and countryside; displays 30 works and sets of handicrafts and craft villages of Hanoi that won prizes in the "Hanoi Handicraft Product Contest 2024" organized by the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
According to the representative of the organizing committee, the total number of units participating in displaying and introducing products at the Festival is 319 units, including: 152 units from 25 districts, towns and cities of Hanoi; 125 units from 25 neighboring provinces and cities and 42 domestic and international units and enterprises.
The number of products on display includes more than 4,000 agricultural products, handicrafts and craft villages; materials, machinery, agricultural equipment applying high technology and digital transformation technology. All products have 3 to 5 star OCOP certificates, organic certificates, VietGAP certificates and food hygiene and safety certificates.
The bonsai exhibition area alone displayed more than 1,000 bonsai art works by nearly 300 artisans, businessmen, and typical bonsai garden owners from 20 provinces and cities across the country.
During the 5 days of the Festival, more than 60,000 people came to visit and shop.
Total revenue of participating units and enterprises reached 30 billion VND. The ornamental plant activities alone had revenue of over 25 billion VND.
Through the exhibition activities at the Festival, 13 units, enterprises, cooperatives, production and business households signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in supplying and consuming agricultural products and craft village products.
Enhancing the brand of traditional craft villages
The Festival also creates a culinary cultural space with a scale of 900m2, equivalent to 17 culinary booths of districts in Hanoi, introducing to visitors traditional dishes typical of Hanoi such as: Thanh Tri rice rolls, Phu Nhi rice cakes, Phu Xuyen mussel noodles, Uoc Le ham, Me Tri green rice flakes, Van Dinh duck sausage...
This is one of the Festival's events to honor the outstanding cultural and historical values of dishes; promote the unique features and culinary quintessence of the ancients' regional cuisine.
In particular, at the culinary area, there will be demonstrations of artisans' skills, preparing dishes from Hanoi's agricultural products; demonstrations of artisans' skills from famous craft villages in the capital (Bat Trang ceramics, silk, hand embroidery, gold leaf, hand-pulling flowered pork rolls...)
This is a special and meaningful activity within the framework of the Festival, aiming to contribute to promoting the development and enhancing the brand promotion of traditional craft villages.
Visitors directly witnessed each stage to create the products; experienced making the products themselves. The experienced products that met the requirements were given gifts to take home, attracting a large number of visitors.
In addition, there are many other activities taking place in the evenings such as: art programs "Fragrance and color of the Capital", "Colors of youth"; art performance program combined with Ao Dai performance recreating activities associated with the production life and spiritual culture of Hanoi villages;
Coming to this Festival, visitors can admire unique bonsai works. Especially, they have the opportunity to visit and learn about the cultural characteristics of Hanoi's agriculture through the exhibition areas, introducing products of districts, towns and cities and shopping with thousands of agricultural products and craft villages with guaranteed quality and clear origin.
Based on the results of the 3rd Hanoi Agricultural Products and Craft Village Festival in 2024, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development proposed that the City People's Committee organize the Festival every 2 years. The Festival aims to promote and introduce agricultural products and craft villages to Hanoi residents, provinces and cities nationwide and foreign visitors to contribute to promoting agricultural production development and linking product consumption. This is also an opportunity to honor producers and artisans, promoting investment attraction in the field of agriculture and rural development in the city.
At the closing ceremony of the Festival, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to 16 districts and communes participating in the contest of displaying, introducing and promoting agricultural products and local craft villages. Of which, the Hoai Duc district exhibition area won the Special Prize.
Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development awarded certificates of merit to 25 groups and 33 individuals with outstanding achievements participating in the Festival.
