Dr. Le Tuan Anh, Deputy Head of the Orthopedic Department, National Children's Hospital, said that he had just performed surgery to save 2 fingers of a girl who accidentally put her hand into a running embroidery machine. The girl was hospitalized with bruises on the 2nd and 3rd fingers of her right hand, along with foreign objects such as grease.

“The doctors tried to preserve the child’s finger,” said Dr. Tuan Anh, adding that the surgery lasted 2.5 hours, and the team combined the bones and sutured the tendons of the child’s finger. After the surgery, the patient’s condition was stable, the wound was dry, and fingers 2 and 3 were pink.

According to doctors, young children are often hyperactive, curious, and lack knowledge and prevention skills, so they are susceptible to household accidents.

Recently, the National Children's Hospital has continuously received cases of hospitalization due to household accidents such as getting hands stuck in doors, embroidery machines, household water purifiers, and boiling water burns, all of which have complex injuries that are difficult to recover from.

Doctors recommend that parents be careful, take safety measures, and pay attention to situations that may pose risks to children.

If unfortunately the child has an accident, the family should provide first aid and quickly take the child to the nearest specialized medical facility for emergency treatment and timely treatment.
