VTV.vn - Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is expected to suspend his campaign on August 23 at an event in Arizona.
Two sources familiar with the plan told CNN that negotiations are underway between Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's campaign and Kennedy's team for the independent candidate to endorse the former president and appear at a Trump rally in the Phoenix area that same night. Kennedy's campaign announced on August 21 that he would be speaking in Phoenix, Arizona. Kennedy will "address the nation" on the morning of August 23, but details of what he will say were not shared.

Kennedy's speech comes days after his running mate Nicole Shanahan said in a podcast interview on August 20 that their campaign team was considering whether to "work with" Trump to prevent the "risk" of Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris winning the US presidential election. On the same day, Republican Donald Trump expressed openness to Kennedy playing a role in a future US administration if the independent candidate stopped her campaign and endorsed him.
