Accordingly, the inspection team will inspect the implementation of policies, laws, tasks and powers assigned to the Department of Education and Training, the Director of the Department of Education and Training and related organizations and individuals in organizing the entrance exam for grade 10 high school in the 2024-2025 school year in Thai Binh province.
The inspection period is 20 days from the date of announcement of the inspection decision.
The inspection team consisted of 11 people, led by Mr. Pham Cong Dich - Deputy Chief Inspector of Thai Binh province. In addition, the inspection team also included two officers from Thai Binh province police.
Previously, many candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam in Thai Binh (mainly candidates taking the exam for Thai Binh Specialized High School and Nguyen Duc Canh High School - the top schools in the province) had their initial announced scores for literature and math subjects of only 2-4 points, but after the review, they increased to 8-9.5 points.
In particular, there was a case where a candidate's math exam score for grade 10 was announced to be only 3.75 points, but the re-examination result increased to 9.5 points (a difference of 5.75 points).
The incident made many parents and teachers angry because their children were shocked when they received test scores that did not match their abilities after hard study and practice.

The 10th grade entrance exam in Thai Binh province took place from June 6 to 8. On June 16, students started looking up their exam scores and found that their scores were unusually low. Many parents and students then submitted appeals.
Regarding this incident, representatives of some parents whose children took the 10th grade entrance exam in Thai Binh province for the 2024-2025 school year filed a complaint against Mr. Nguyen Viet Hien - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thai Binh province - and those involved in the admission work in the 10th grade entrance exam.
Parents expressed their hope that the education sector of Thai Binh province would review and re-evaluate the entire incident so that capable students would not miss out on their studies and future.
