Finalize 5 fireworks display locations on April 30

On the occasion of April 30 this year, Ho Chi Minh City organized 5 fireworks display locations. Of which, the high-altitude display took place at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel (Thu Thiem ward, Thu Duc city), with 1,500 high-altitude fireworks, 30 low-altitude fireworks and 10 pyrotechnic displays.

4 low-altitude shooting locations include: Thao Dien Villa Area (Thao Dien Ward, Thu Duc City) - shooting on barges; Van Phuc Urban Area (Hiep Binh Phuoc Ward, Thu Duc City); Lot N4-D6 Tay Bac Industrial Park (Tan An Hoi Commune, Cu Chi District); Dam Sen Cultural Park (Ward 3, District 11). Fireworks will be displayed from 9:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. on April 30, 2024.

On the morning of April 25, the People's Committee of Co Giang Ward (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) launched the project of a green and clean alley at alley 42 Tran Dinh Xu.

Ms. Le Thu Huyen, Secretary of the Party Committee of Co Giang Ward, informed that the locality renovated the wall into a mural with the hope of transforming the garbage accumulation point, handling the situation of encroaching vehicles, aiming towards the goal of a zero-emission city.

On this occasion, the locality also mobilized people to renovate shared toilets in the apartment complex, arrange parking spaces and dismantle wooden balconies to prevent fires and explosions. The Youth Union and the Youth Union of Co Giang Ward also helped people paint and decorate stalls, food and beverage carts to attract customers, and create a unique business brand for households.

On April 26, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department of Staff said that the unit had arrested, persuaded, and received the surrender of 11 wanted criminals in the first 4 months of 2024.

Among them, 3 subjects are wanted for the especially dangerous act of "Fraudulent appropriation of property" including: Nguyen Van Dung (49 years old), Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh (54 years old) and Le Cong Hien (48 years old).

In addition, PC01 coordinated with relevant units to arrest and persuade 6 Korean nationals wanted for various crimes and safely handed them over to the Korean side.

After receiving complaints from local residents about two videos recording child abuse at Ti Bo Kindergarten, the People's Committee of Linh Dong Ward (Thu Duc City) worked with this facility. During the meeting, the People's Committee of the ward identified Ms. LTBN, the owner of this kindergarten, as the one who abused the children at noon on April 11.

According to this person, the abused children were NTC (born in 2019) and TMH (born in 2018). Because C. refused to eat, cried, and covered her mouth, Ms. N. sat on top of her and forced her to eat tangerines, causing her to panic and cry a lot. As for H., she was playing and broke her toy, so Ms. N. used a red plastic brick (a toy in the classroom) to hit her on the head and slapped her in the face, causing her to panic and cry a lot.

After the incident, Ms. N. met and wanted to compensate the child and his family, but there was no agreement. After that, the incident was spread on social networks. Working with the authorities, Ms. N. admitted her violations. The ward People's Committee directed the ward police to continue verifying the information and advising on handling Ms. N.'s actions according to regulations. Ti Bo kindergarten was also suspended from operating from April 25.


Issue an 'ultimatum' to the contractor who is delaying the Tham Luong - Ben Cat canal project

On April 23, the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor) had a working session with representatives of Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company (referred to as Thuan An Group) and the consulting and supervision consortium related to two bidding packages XL5 and XL6 of the project to build infrastructure and improve the environment of Tham Luong - Ben Cat - Rach Nuoc Len canal.

In case after April 30, the investor inspects the construction site but does not see that the contractor, Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company, has a plan to implement the related contents that this unit has committed to, the investor will consider suspending and terminating the contract by the contracting party.


Rare Indian Peacock perches on a balcony

On April 22, the Ho Chi Minh City Forest Protection Department received a peacock and brought it to the animal rescue station for care. This is the first time the unit has received this bird species. After a period of care, the peacock's health has improved compared to when it was received. This is an Indian peacock, scientific name Pava Cristatus, an endangered species.

Speaking to Tien Phong newspaper, Ms. Le Thi Phuong (living in Nha Be district, Ho Chi Minh City) said that four days ago, her relatives saw a white-feathered peacock perched on the balcony of their private house in Thu Duc City. The homeowner tried to chase the bird away with her hand, but the bird did not react, so she caught it and brought it inside. After that, the peacock did not eat or drink, and moved weakly. The next day, Ms. Phuong took the bird to the Wildlife Rescue Station in Cu Chi for care.


Seeing the traffic police checkpoint, dozens of people carried their vehicles across the embankment and ran in the opposite direction on the forbidden road.

Recently, information about Mr. Huynh Van Son (34 years old, from Vinh Long) - a delivery man (shipper) in Thu Duc City - having his motorbike and more than 80 orders stolen by thieves was widely spread on social networks.

After the incident, the shipping company asked Mr. Son to pay the total value of more than 80 orders (equivalent to more than 11 million VND). What made the male shipper even sadder was that the motorbike worth 53 million VND - his family's savings over many years - could not be found.

After reading about Mr. Son's situation, Ms. P. (living in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) and her friends raised more than 80 million VND. Ms. P. went to his accommodation to give him the money and took him to buy a new car worth 60 million VND. He used the remaining 20 million VND to compensate for the lost goods.
