Arrest of subject illegally storing and transporting lead bullets and many weapons and explosives

On June 4, Yen The District Police (Bac Giang) said that the unit had just inspected, discovered and arrested Nguyen Van Hieu (born in 1983, in Group 6, Trung Vuong Ward, Thai Nguyen City, Thai Nguyen Province) to investigate and clarify the act of transporting a very large quantity of weapons including lead bullets, sports bullets, gun components, blasting beads and explosives.

Previously, on May 25, at Hoa Binh residential group (Bo Ha town, Yen The district), the working group of Yen The district police coordinated with a number of professional units to inspect and discovered that Hieu had illegally transported the above goods.

At the time of inspection, the task force seized 37 cardboard boxes containing mushroom-shaped metal objects (suspected to be lead bullets), with a total weight of 497 kg; 1 cardboard box containing bullet-shaped objects (suspected to be bullets used for sports shooting) weighing 9.5 kg; 1 car with license plate 20A-519.75.

During the investigation, Nguyen Van Hieu confessed that before the police inspected him, he had just sold 3 cardboard boxes containing lead bullets to a person in Bo Ha town, Yen The district.

Working with the buyer of Hieu's lead bullets, this person admitted to the police that he had bought 3 boxes of lead bullets as above from Nguyen Van Hieu and also produced lead bullets himself to sell for profit. This person voluntarily handed over to the police 3 cardboard boxes containing mushroom-shaped metal objects (suspected to be lead bullets) purchased from Nguyen Van Hieu with a total weight of 32.5 kg; 4 kg of lead bullets that this person produced and manufactured himself; 1 cutting machine and a manual press used to produce lead bullets.

In addition to the seized lead bullets and sports bullets, Nguyen Van Hieu confessed to also storing explosives (explosive particles used to produce hunting gun bullets) and explosives along with lead bullets and components used to produce and manufacture air guns at his house in Group 9, Tuc Duong Ward (Thai Nguyen City) and at his relatives' house in residential area 7B, Tuc Duyen Ward (Thai Nguyen City).

On May 25, the Investigation Police Agency (Yen The District Police) issued an emergency search warrant for Nguyen Van Hieu's residence and seized 72 plastic bags containing a total of 7,200 explosives; 550 grams of powder suspected to be explosives; 524 kg of lead bullets; 18 kg of sports bullets; many objects suspected to be gun components, with a total weight of 37 kg; 1 electric air compressor; 6 air pumps...

Colonel Do Duc Trinh, Deputy Director of Bac Giang Provincial Police (far right) directly directed the investigation of the case.

At the Investigation Police Agency, Yen The District Police, Nguyen Van Hieu confessed that he bought all the lead bullets on Facebook from a man to sell for profit.

The police are continuing to investigate, clarify the case and handle it according to the provisions of law.
