Bao Yen opens the 2nd Folk Culture Festival "Yellow color along Nam Luong river in 2024"

With the efforts and determination of the entire political system, the tourism sector of Bao Yen district has grown remarkably in recent times. In 2023, the number of tourists to Bao Yen reached 1.4 million, the total revenue from tourism is estimated at more than 1,000 billion VND, of which the number of visitors to Nghia Do reached 21,000, the revenue from community tourism is estimated at 15 billion VND. In the first 4 months of 2024, the number of tourists to Bao Yen is estimated at over 600,000, the total revenue from tourism is estimated at over 500 billion VND, of which the number of visitors to Nghia Do reached nearly 5,000, the revenue reached more than 4 billion VND.

Nghia Do is a land with an increasingly improved landscape environment, forming unique tourism products such as night markets, check-in points, agricultural tourism experience models, cuisine, traditional crafts, etc. Promoting the development of Nghia Do commune community tourism associated with preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic groups is necessary to exploit the available tourism potential of the locality, creating resources for tourism development. Up to now, Nghia Do homestay cluster has been honored to receive the ASEAN Homestay Award for the period 2023 - 2025 and the district is building a dossier to request UNESCO to recognize Nghia Do Community Tourism Site as "The best tourist village".

The series of tourism stimulus activities at the 2nd Nghia Do Community Tourism Site with the theme "Yellow color along the Nam Luong River" has nearly 20 events taking place from April 27 to May 1, 2024, including many unique and attractive activities such as: Launching the traditional costume week; contest "Displaying cultural spaces and typical agricultural and forestry products of communes and towns", Traditional handicraft practice contest, exploring waterfalls; participating in folk games, sports and cultural activities... The festival will bring memorable experiences to people and visitors.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, exciting activities took place attracting a large number of people and tourists from all over the country to participate: traditional water carrying competition, swallow catching competition, raft racing and raft swimming experience on Nam Luong stream, folk culture festival "Nghia Do Youth lighting up traditional culture", experience weaving straps of the Tay ethnic group, blindfolded duck catching... Especially, admiring the unique xoe dance performance of students from schools in the area.

Before that, delegates, tourists and people came to offer incense at the historical and cultural relic of Nghia Do temple.
