On June 13, in Yen Thang commune, Thanh Hoa Cultural - Cinema Center opened a training class on preserving and teaching "Traditional folk songs, dances, and music of the Thai ethnic group associated with community tourism development activities and improving grassroots cultural life in Lang Chanh district" in 2023.
Students practice skills in preserving and promoting folk songs and dances of the Thai ethnic group.
The training course was held in Yen Thang commune with the participation of 60 trainees who are grassroots cultural officials, cultural and artistic cores of communes and towns in Lang Chanh district. This is an important work program in 2023 to effectively implement the Project "Preserving, restoring and promoting the values of folk songs and folk dances of Thanh Hoa province in the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization in the period of 2021 - 2030" of the Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee and the Project "Preserving and promoting the values of folk songs, folk dances and folk music of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development in the period of 2021 - 2030" of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Within the framework of the training course, the lecturers are professors, doctors, researchers in the field of folk culture, People's Artists, Meritorious Artists, Prestigious Folk Artists, directors, choreographers who impart and teach knowledge about the origin, significance, and importance of preserving and promoting the values of folk songs, folk dances, folk music, and folk performances of the Thai ethnic group; discuss about the activities of practicing folk songs, folk dances, and folk music of the Thai ethnic group in Thanh Hoa associated with the development of community tourism and improving the cultural life of the grassroots in Lang Chanh district.
The training course organizers and trainees are the cultural and artistic cores of Lang Chanh district.
Through the practical part, students were taught Thai folk songs such as khap and lullabies; taught Sa fish dance, bamboo pole dance and popularized Thai xoe; taught drum and gong playing; preserved and taught rituals in the Cha Mun Festival of the Lang Chanh Black Thai people; organized instructions on how to build an exchange and interaction program between artisans and tourists associated with community tourism development activities and improving the cultural life of the grassroots in Lang Chanh district.
