Storm No. 3 Saola gusts above level 17 for many hours in the East Sea, likely to change direction

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, as of 4:00 p.m. this afternoon (August 31), the center of storm No. 3 (storm Saola) was located at about 21.3 degrees North latitude; 117.6 degrees East longitude, in the northeastern sea of ​​the North East Sea, about 420km East Southeast of Hong Kong (China).

The strongest wind near the storm center is level 15-16 (167-201 km/h), gusting over level 17, moving in the West Northwest direction, speed about 10 km/h.

Forecast for the next 24 hours, typhoon Saola will maintain its direction and speed of movement. The center of the storm is located in the sea southeast of Guangdong province (China). Although the storm tends to weaken, remaining at level 14, its intensity is still very strong, gusting to level 17.

It is forecasted that in the next 72-120 hours, storm No. 3 will likely change direction to move south, traveling about 5km per hour, and its intensity will continue to decrease.

Due to the impact of the storm, the northern sea area of ​​the North East Sea has strong storm winds of level 10-13, near the storm center of level 14-16, gusting above level 17; the sea is very rough.

In the northeastern sea area of ​​the North East Sea, waves are 4-6m high, and 8-10m high near the storm center.
