Comrade Le Thanh Long, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister and Comrade Nguyen Van Hung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded the First Prize to the authors.

According to the Organizing Committee, the second National Press Award "For the development of Culture, Sports and Tourism" attracted 920 entries from central and local press agencies.

This is a large number of works of a specialized press award, demonstrating the special interest of journalists and press agencies in the fields of culture, sports, tourism and family.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association and Comrade Pham Tat Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Department, awarded the Second Prize to the authors.

Through the selection rounds, the Jury worked urgently, focusedly, seriously and unanimously selected 94 excellent works to award prizes in 5 categories: Print Newspaper, Electronic Newspaper, Radio, Television and Photo Newspaper.

Along with 94 awarded works and 3 honored groups, this year's Award also recognized nearly 1,000 participating works that comprehensively, truthfully, and deeply reflected the fields under the industry's management.

Comrade Phan Xuan Thuy, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department and Comrade Le Hai Binh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Communist Magazine, awarded the Third Prize to author Quang Van Hung, Journalists and Public Opinion newspaper.

The works have exploited and conveyed many profound messages, affirming the breakthrough mark of the culture, sports and tourism industry in recent times. Many works have elaborately demonstrated and exploited the strengths of modern journalism, creating strong effects and spread.

According to the organizers, the 5 individual First Prizes went to the works "Journey to follow the King's footsteps to bring back the royal decree" (printed newspaper, 5-part series, An ninh Thu do Newspaper), "Meeting the world right in Vietnam" (electronic newspaper, 3-part series, Nhan dan Newspaper), "Traditional art: Preservation and survival" (radio, 5-part series, Literature - Arts Department VOV6, Voice of Vietnam), Discussion "Two years of cultural revival and development" (television, Vietnam Television) and "The heroic epic of Dien Bien Phu echoes forever" (People's Army Newspaper).

Three units Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency and Van Hoa Newspaper received the Collective Award.

Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency and Van Hoa Newspaper won the collective prize for press agencies with many works participating in the contest and achieving high results. In addition, the Organizing Committee awarded 15 Second Prizes, 24 Third Prizes and 50 Encouragement Prizes to authors and groups of authors.
