Vietnam Social Security: Summary of digital transformation work, implementation of Project 06

In the first 6 months of the year, Vietnam Social Security continued to closely follow the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister in implementing digital transformation work, implementing Project 06; fully and promptly issuing documents directing implementation, inspection, supervision, and raising awareness of digital transformation throughout the industry. Thereby, optimizing the use and exploitation of databases to serve people and businesses; resolving and paying regimes and policies promptly, quickly, and accurately; improving the effectiveness of inspection, supervision, management, and use of funds, preventing fraud and profiteering of social insurance and health insurance funds. Up to now, the system of Vietnam Social Security has authenticated more than 97.9 million demographic information in the database; 100% of health insurance examination and treatment facilities use chip-embedded citizen identification cards; about 74% of beneficiaries receive social insurance regimes through personal accounts in urban areas (an increase of 10% compared to 2023); There were 21.4 million successful queries for social insurance book information to integrate into the VNeID application...

In the last 6 months of the year, Vietnam Social Security continues to carry out key tasks such as: Coordinating with the Public Security sector to review, update, and authenticate information of participants and beneficiaries of social insurance, health insurance, and accident insurance with the national database; digitizing records and results of administrative procedure settlement in accordance with regulations; providing solutions to authenticate biometric information on chip-embedded citizen identification cards; maintaining connections and sharing information on social insurance books and health insurance cards on the VNeID application at the request of the people; promoting monthly pension and social insurance allowance payments through non-cash payments; connecting and synchronizing data between the national insurance database and the population database to serve the implementation of the Law on Identification, etc.
