From November 1953, the Dien Bien Phu campaign logistics began operating and rapidly developed.
When deciding on the strategy to attack and destroy the enemy at Dien Bien Phu, one of the major issues that the Party Central Committee paid attention to and directed was the provision and supply of food and ammunition, and ensuring roads for tens of thousands of soldiers of the main units fighting far from the rear for a long period of time.
From November 1953, the Dien Bien Phu campaign logistics began operating and rapidly developed.
Assessing the great role of the rear in general, and logistics in particular, for the Dien Bien Phu campaign, General Vo Nguyen Giap wrote: Never before during the years of resistance, have our people contributed so much as in the Winter-Spring of 1953-1954, to support the troops in killing the enemy... Never before have so many Vietnamese people gone to the front... The rear has transferred a determination to kill the enemy, a very high spirit of solidarity in resistance, and a spirit of revolutionary excitement to the soldiers fighting on the front./.
